This place is like a plague- every time I leave I regret having gone, yet I somehow still end up going back.
Let's start with the good: TVs and Beer. This is about all they have that's good. They have one of the better TV setups for Nashville sports bars, with plenty of them and all in HD. However, they have been known to "stream" games over an internet connection rather than use their cable provider (probably illegal), and so sometimes you'll be watching a game and it will be jumpy and blurry and drive you absolutely nuts. This seems to happen most during football season. The other good of this place are the beer prices- they are relatively cheap for a Nashville bar, probably due to its lack of proximity to the midtown or downtown scenes.
The bad: everything else. For starters, the food is pretty much all around bad. I am the furthest from a picky eater, and I love bar/pub food, but this menu is trash. The only thing I have found to like is one of their salads...and I never eat salad. The service is also horrendous. They operate on the "team" approach where you have multiple waiters/waitresses coming by to deliver food, pick up items, and assist. The problem is no one ever comes by and you will be sitting there for 30-40 minutes between check-ins. Then one waiter will say he is going off shift and asks you to close out the tab only for you to wait another hour for the new server to check on you. Even worse than any of the waitstaff is the squirrelly manager with a major underbite that waddles around the restaurant refusing to put any of the sports games on that you want or are relevant because he made his mind up that morning which games and which tvs would play. The bar also doesn't play sound of the games, even for Preds, Titans, Vandy, or UT, which is just insane! Instead, they play random 90s songs, which further detracts from the feel of a sports bar. They unfortunately ran Nashville's best sports bar (Sam's) out of business a couple doors down and couldn't even borrow the things that made Sam's great. Hopefully Sam will open up a new place close by and we can stop being subjected to this...

Read moreWhat can I say except wow!!!! This was my first time visiting double dogs. My wife, daughter and I decided to stop by shortly after they opened.
We ordered the onion rings to start with. They were absolutely fantastic. Great breading and fried just right. They actually take the membrane off before cooking. This made them extremely easy to eat. The dipping sauce tasted like a chipotle sauce. Extremely satisfying.
I ordered the breakfast burger. The order came out very quickly. The burger came open face with the egg on top sunny side up. Once you put the bun together the yolk breaks covering the entire burger in yolk. It was heaven in every bite. Great tasting bacon on top as well. The burger was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Absolutely a great burger. And only 12.99. A very good value
My wife ordered the stroganoff Mac and cheese and didn’t leave disappointed. Great flavor with large noodles and thick creamy cheese. The meat was soft and tasty and mixed in perfectly. Cooked to perfection. Definitely a winner that I myself will order next time. Highly recommend!
My daughter order the buffalo chicken salad. The chicken was tasty with lots of buffalo sauce. The salad was fresh with ole of greens to mix in. Definitely a good salad.
Give Double Dogs a try when your in the area. Will...
