Unfortunately our poor experience started with their terrible mobile app that absolutely refuses to let you place a ToGo order. We placed a ToGo order, then got a confirmation email that our order pick-up location was Boynton Beach, FL. The items on the email confirmation were also not what we ordered. We assumed some wires got crossed, so we called the Charlotte Pike location regarding our order.
We were unable to reach anyone at the ToGo extension, so we selected option 3 to speak with the next available associate. The associate who answered stated they did not have an order in their system for us. She did not know how to handle what happened with our order and wanted to transfer us to ToGo. I explained we were having trouble reaching anyone at that extension, so she went to speak with someone herself. She came back and said we would need to speak with a manager. I thanked her and was placed on a "brief" hold.
Fifteen (15) minutes later, the line cut off. I called back, only to be told they were experiencing their lunch rush and couldn't deal with my situation right now. I explained I am also a lunch customer and need to speak with someone now. I explained I was told someone was letting their manager know (insert Karen insults here). I was again placed on hold, waited at least 15 more minutes only to be cut off again. We never got our order and I've yet to be able to speak with anyone to resolve this issue. I have submitted a ticket to Cracker Barrel Guest relations and am awaiting their response. I expect my payment to be fully refunded.
I'm writing this review on the physical store location because we've had repeated issues with ToGo orders here. IMHO, do not offer ToGo orders and do not call it "a seamless experience" if you are not able to provide that to your customers.
Positives, because I truly am neither a Karen or a Negative Nancy: The food here is always good and I've always enjoyed the down home atmosphere of Cracker Barrel. We are ordering ToGo more recently because I've...
Read moreever had a meal so bad ther manager comped it before you could complain about it? my table of four waited over an hour for our food. when it finally showed up 1 person received what they ordered, 2 people were missing at least one side from their meal, and then there was mine. ordered the grandmas sampler, (eggs fried, pancakes a meat sampler with bacon, sausage, and ham and a side.) i received scrambled eggs and 2 burnt panakes. pointed out to the person who was doing damage control that i received none of the meat and the eggs were wrong and eventually received a half order of bacon with cole slaw dripped on it an none of the rest of the order. Do not eat here. the place is a disaster. the low service score is a reflection on the establishment not our server, although he seemed to still be in training.
edited and added. Corporate has reached out to me about the situation and offered to "fix" it by providing one coupon for one free entree. to be shared by four of us . and it doesnt include a drink. seems a rather weak response doesnt it? 4 people were negatively affected by the establishments incompetence and the fix is to throw out a coupon for 1 person?
the email i just received. customer service is so bad they cant be bothered to paste the customers name after dear.... not really trying that hard to "regain trust" are they?

Read moreWe had planned an early dinner for a particular reason. There was now host anywhere at the desk. We waited, trying to get help at the cash register, where two employees giggled and laughed and otherwise ignored us. After a good five minutes wait finally a young lady arrived asked how many we were (2), grabbed some menus, silverware, ran ahead, threw everything on a table and went on walking without as much as turning around. When I said 'Thank you' she threw a look over her shoulder as I was interrupting her. 'How dare I?' From that moment on we were entirely ignored. It was shortly after 3 pm, the restaurant was not busy at all, so not lunch or breakfast, and not yet dinner time, there were waiters around, just not for us. At 3:25 pm I got up and walked towards the kitchen, found the young lady(host) standing next to another one who had turned her back to me and I asked her politely: "Do you think there is someone who could bring us something to drink and take our order?"
If looks could kill the area in a 10-mile-radius around me would have been radioactive wasteland. She replied acidly: " Yeah, yeah, sure. She'll be right there."
Her chin pointed to the lady who had her back toward me and didn't even bother turning around. It didn't seem very encouraging. My reply was 'Hm.'. I returned to our table. Another 10 minutes later we found our patience overstretched and left...
And here I am now, in a slight state of shock. I am not a Cracker Barrel Award Member because I like the logo. I am, because I loved the food, the service, the cheerfulness and politeness of the staff... and here, for the second time now, I have to literally complain about both, service, atmosphere, staff... IN THE SOUTH .
It destroys my experience, my memories, and my fun! It destroys the Cracker Barrel image, and everything it stands for.
Keep on hiring rude incompetent unwelcoming staff who treats your guests like intruders, you'll soon have the reputation of a fast-food...
