On our way through town we wanted to try a coffee shop that was not a corporate chain, Dose coffee happened to have good reviews so we decided to try it. The menu options were typical of coffee shops with options to create your own, which can be a good thing when the coffee itself is good and in our experience it was not. They also didnāt have any house specialty coffees but one, the Barcelona. We got a Barcelona and a pour-over coffee with sweetened condensed milk, and we were very disappointed. In the Barcelona the coffee was bitter and just blah and the whipped cream they topped it with was to stiff to mix into the drink. As for the pour-over coffee letās just say Waffle House coffee is better. As for the food⦠we got a rosemary Parmesan biscuit sandwich and a spicy egg sandwich. The spicy egg sandwich was good the bagel was good and the it was a well made sandwich. On the other hand the rosemary Parmesan biscuit sandwich was not as good. The texture of the biscuit was great but the rosemary and Parmesan flavors were nowhere to be found, also the sauce they put on it was overpowering and did not work well with the rest of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDose is one of the few coffee shops in Nashville that I return to. It serves both breakfast sandwiches and coffee, which makes it a great spot to stop in the mornings. Often times, coffee shops will only offer pastries or will offer small breakfast items that donāt fill you up. The biscuits here are large and are guaranteed to not leave you hungry. The coffee here is good but not the most competitive cup Iāve had in Nashville. The cream used on the Barcelona is a bit too thick for drinking. The iced coffee is great, however. I mainly come here if I am looking for a solid cup of coffee AND something to eat. The shop can be busy so be patient for your food and drink if you are coming during a rush. Parking is located directly outside the building, but usually cannot accommodate all customers during a weekday morning. Look ahead at their busy times to get a parking spot. There are about 40 seats inside the building but a lot of it is shared tables and a ledge to work from, so be comfortable being close to others if you plan to...
Read moreI give them a 5 for coffee, 3 for food, and low marks for atmosphere. It is always a loud ambient noise level in here due to the abundance of reflective surfaces. People seem to come here to be alone in public or meet 1-on-1, so coming here to socialize as a café is not going to work. It may tout itself as laid back, but this is the most uptight café I know of. For some reason, a takeout sandwich gets the napkin underneath so that it can get sauce on it. The coffee is pricey but the quality of beans is outstanding. I heard most of the coffee is used within a few weeks or a month of its roast date, and the by-the-pound price is well out of my price range; however, if you are looking for beans with some of the best aromatic qualities around, Dose carries good stuff. I wish they would put some sound absorption paneling up around the ceiling because being in this place hurts my ears. Thankful they have...
