Great views of the city, but not much else. A native told me that the park is so named because teens would come up here to make out. It is a water pumping site, so it isn't a typical park, but the views of the city and the home of a country music superstar make it a place worth checking out. One of the highest points in the city, wear your sturdy hiking shoes, because it is a bit of a climb to the top of the hill. It is dotted with pumping buildings, wrapped in razor wire, but there's also a windturbine and plenty of green space to stretch out and catch some rays. While we were there I saw students relaxing on blankets with their homework, a couple bouncong a volleyball back and forth (there is no net), and a few runners getting their jog on. There is also a bit of trash, since it seems the city doesn't do much weekend cleanup of the park.
But the views!! you can see all the way to downtown, Vanderbilt stadium, and the children's hospital. And then you can look farther south to see the new construction. Quite an impressive view of the city. I understand why Mr. country star built his home here, as ugly as it is. It looks like an office building, but it is...
Read moreIt's not really a park and is more of a hilltop with a view. It is dirty because people don't clean up after themselves and expect the neighborhood to do it for them. There is limited parking but there is a dirt lot to park in vs the street....when it isn't using it for their personal valet parking. Take care not to park your car in the no parking zones especially if you park near the alley ways. It is narrow and your car will get hit or scratched because we don't have the room to turn out of our "driveway". Also, try to go up the longer/curved end to the park vs the narrow/short end. People who live on the hill are used to sharing the road with other cars, but we may get a bit too close for your comfort as we are trying to get to our homes. We don't want to fall off the...
Read moreNot quite a park; wish someone had told me that before I went. This was a major letdown as I visited it during summer months, there was trash everywhere & it was mildly stinking with a fruit-flies-fest around. The view was mostly blocked by the trees but the the pictures I posted is what we saw.
There is parking around the love circle (one-way) and there’s additional parking near this roundabout. There’s no walking trail or hike as such. A few steps to go up the hill to see the so-called “view” of the city. If you haven’t been to the Capitol Hill bicentennial park, then you’re much more likely to find a better view and cleaner...
