Haymakers & Co. — Local services in Nashville-Davidson

I can't speak of their retail, but it all looks very high quality if you can afford it. I use Haymakers for their barber. I've been to a few "barbers" and it's always been hit or miss. TJ, their barber, is a master barber and I don't see myself using anybody else any time soon. Every other barber I've been to looks at my beard when i go in for touch-ups and says "you do really well at taking care of your beard. It looks good and even." which honestly upsets me. I wouldn't be going to a barber if my beard was even, and they're basically saying they can't make it much better. TJ took one look and ran his fingers through my beard and said "this is all jacked up". I liked that he actually quickly noticed all the spots where my previous barber had made mistakes (several of them) and was able to make me very happy when I looked in the mirror at the end. The reason I am writing this review is to commend their service AFTER the sale. I stopped into Haymakers while in Nashville for a work trip. They offered a nice array of upscale options and were very pleasant (and had a nice beer selection). The pants I purchased required altering - so they had to mail the pants to FL once the altering was complete. My pants showed up a week later with a hiccup/misunderstand about keeping the original hem. I gave Haymakers a call, reached Sheldon Helm (who had helped me in-store and remembered me), and he immediately went to work making it right. They had me ship the pants back, made the corrections, and mailed everything back to me in good order (and covered all shipping). I walked into Haymakers looking for TJ to get a haircut. I was "greated" by a lady who seemed rather put off l didn't know there was a barber in this clothing store. TJ is awesome did a great job on my hair. When l was leaving another man was at the cash register but TJ had to ASK him to take my payment. The guy seemed put off, just like the lady when l walked in. I felt like either l didn't fit in because of my anual income or I'm not a regular customer. The man at the register told me "you will get your receipt via email". I stood there for a second processing what he said, then he looked at me and said, "you're done". Okaaaaaay, I get it, I'll leave.....(Still no receipt)....l can pay less and get treated better elsewhere.
