Coming in hot! I stop into the shop often in the mornings on my way into work (also in the neighborhood, just down the road at Molly Green) + I just had to pop in a quick review to say,
Elegy, YA ROCK. It’s truly the warmest, most enjoyable + Lovely experience without fail at each + every visit. This Team is top notch. These guys + gals always have the raddest, chillest, most inviting + communal energy with the grooviest tunes on the speakers just adding to what a beautiful, happy, positive environment Elegy’s Team creates + provides for its neighbors + visitors everyday.
All of the guys on the team are truly just the sweetest + so interactive with every guest. The gal with the prettiest blue eyes who is always so, so kind + smiling at the window, too. It’s just a joy to visit + is best way to start our days (I think I can speak for all of the East folk in saying so ;)) as neighbors + guests to your spot. Elegy provides above + beyond service, SUCH a quality + delicious menu, kindnesses, + jolly experience that makes East Nashville what it is as a community. We’re all Lucky to have such a solid quality spot in the neighborhood.
Can’t say enough about what a huge “Thanks, you guys + gals are top tier!” you all deserve. Very frequent guest + forever big ol’ fan for keeps!
Big Love, Ges...
Read moreI’m torn about a rating for Elegy. I’ve been going since their opening during the pandemic.
I have to start my saying their products are fantastic. The honey bear is a wonderful and smooth latte while the breakfast burrito tastes is a unique and delicious take on the classic.
Now why the 3 star? Well… the prices. When it opened, the prices were affordable but on the higher end of what you can reasonably charge for Nashville. A honey best latte is currently $8.50 and a burrito is now $14. With tax and an implied 20% tip that rounds out to $28 for a single person for a single breakfast. That is absurd. Those are LA prices.
The cold honey bear lattes are made in large batches and poured out of a container upon ordering. I’m honestly unsure if the burritos are pre made or fresh to order. This batch process allows for cost saving on behalf of Elegy, but that is not passed on to the consumer.
Sadly, for me, this coffee shop has gone from multi day per week visit to a place I simply do not go to at all.
In the great push to support local coffee shops over national chains, Elegy has actually managed...
Read moreWe stopped by for coffee this morning and were unable to get our order taken. We stood outside the Coffee To Go window next to a menu and an open window with a tablet (ostensibly one for taking orders) - there was a worker standing there who made eye contact with us, then shut the window. So we continued waiting. The window opened again, she glared at us, then moved the tablet back and shut the window. The window opened again. And then shut again, accompanied by another glare. People were queued up behind us to have their orders taken. People who had walked into the shop were having their orders taken, so I’m imagining there’s simply an issue of unclear signage, but regardless, rather than just opening and closing the windows and glaring, it would have been helpful to say, “are you waiting to order? Please come inside!” After about 5 minutes, we left. I can only imagine that the queue of people behind us are either still there, gathering dust, or perhaps someone was finally kind enough to communicate the proper flow...
