New to Nashville, we love going into eclectic parts of the city to explore on the weekends. We dropped in at Emmy Squared with a craving for some pizza, and they did not disappoint. With a modern and minimalist atmosphere, we felt like we were back in NYC. They served a bottle of water at the table; very European and appreciated. When we arrived, it smelled mouth-watering good! A chef came out and shared with us that she was trying a new recipe for an upcoming event with Brian Cranston, and we might taste test it for her. We had the shareable Cesar salad, which we devoured. The deluxe pizza ~ large ~ came with 10 good size pieces. We took half home with us. Then, as promised, the chef brought us each out a piece of "El Jefe" to try. First of all, SO MUCH FUN! I loved that experience ~ but also her creation was delicious. It had marinated chicken, a Verde sauce, a lime crema, roasted red peppers, and cilantro. Traditionally, I'm not a tex-mex or Mexican food fan, but this pizza was really, really good! I'd order it on our next visit, if it makes the official menu. It was $40 for the two of us, but the prices are posted, so we knew going in ~ and did take plenty home for later. Thanks for a fun afternoon and spot-on pizza!

Whenever I travel I like to try new pizza places. Not sure what my friend googled to find this place, but I'm very happy he did. We arrived around 9:10 and they close at 10. The gentleman that greeted us upon arrival was very friendly. We looked the menu over and asked our server about the sesame seed crest on the MVP. He said that was probably his favorite so we took his word and ordered it. We ordered the brussel sprout salad minus the blue cheese, waffle fries minus bacon, and the MVP pizza. The menu said the Brussels sprout salad was shareable, it really is! With the waffle fries, you get 1 lb, it was a lot. The queso was nice and creamy and had a good kick to it. Then the pizza came out and I was full so could only eat one slice of the Detroit style. The food was so freaking good. The friend I went with said it was possibly the best complete meal he has ever had. We were shocked to find out while talking to our server before we left that it is a chain down the east coast. I really wish we had one in Ohio, I will be there all the time!

First time here. Loved the vibe of the place coming in. I didn't like that there were no prices on anything I could see and no prices were shared with us until we ordered. Prices are a little high for my taste. 2 pizzas and 2 drinks $66 with tip. I would have preferred a drink machine for refills but all they had were small can and bottle drinks with no refills. The nice man who took our order and brought our food was very nice and made sure everything was good for us and checked on us several times during our meal. We didn't wait long for the pizza and when it came out it looked so good. Once I took the first bite I was hooked. Everything about this pizza was amazing. Even heating it in the microwave later that night it was just as good. I would recommend trying this place if you are in the area. Even with the prices being a little high, it's worth it!!

At the start of this review I have to confess that as a fan of neapolitan and new York pizza I went into my Emmy Squared experience a little hesitant. That is not to say that I was looking for faults, as I was not. Detroit style is just not my usual choice. Emmy Squared is highly recommended around here, but I was put off by the price for a pizza that is not my thing. This weekend, I had a good coupon and decided to give it a go.

My wife has a gluten intolerance. Most pizza places do not offer gluten-free crusts, and when they do, it is often as hard as the plate it is served on. Emmy Squared, however, is a different and softer style. We ordered two cheese pizzas, one GF, and one regular. Concerningly, the kitchen did not label the box of the GF one. Visually, the pizzas looked very similar. I had to test both and guess. Fortunately, I guessed correctly. Had my wife had a more serious allergy, we would not have been able to risk guessing. I will say that the GF crust is incredibly impressive. Quite possibly the best around. That is hard to achieve.

Emmy Squared is Detroit style pizza, which often comes greasy, overloaded, and feeling like junk food. Emmy Squared is not that. It was not greasy, and the toppings were well proportioned. Unfortunately, however, the tomato sauce was terribly salty. The kind of salty that doesn't just taste salty but also leaves you feeling salty for hours afterward, which is not pleasant. The cheese was also very plain. I'd compare the taste and quality of the toppings on this pizza to Pizza Hut. In fact, it brought up a lot of childhood memories of Pizza Hut, which is fun once in a while, but not at these prices. Compared to other premium priced pizzas nearby, this just felt a little cheap.

Emmy Squared does have some other creative options, sides, and salads, which look interesting and that you won't find elsewhere.

I'm glad I tried this to feed my curiosity, but for the price, I'll stick to crossing the road to Nashvilles' very best pizza at...

I don’t usually write reviews, but our experience here was so disappointing that I feel it needs to be shared. From the moment we arrived, we felt unwelcome, instead of a friendly greeting, we were met with an eye roll and overheard the waiter say to his colleague, “Is this yours or mine?” It immediately gave us a bad feeling, and unfortunately, it only went downhill from there.

After waiting quite a while for any service, a lovely staff member eventually came over and kindly took our order. We really appreciated his humour, professionalism and warmth, but moments later, we saw our original server yelling at him at the till. The same server then came over to our table and told us we “shouldn’t have done that,” in a tone that was shockingly rude and unprofessional. I even apologised and explained that it was my fault, we had simply ushered the other staff member over because we were eager to order after waiting so long.

Instead of moving on, the waiter’s attitude only got worse. He took our order with visible annoyance, and the tone throughout was completely unacceptable. After that interaction, we decided we would rather ask for another server, but when we did, he flat-out refused and mocked the other waiter, saying, “You really want his? He’s new.”

The entire experience was uncomfortable and unpleasant. We ended up leaving before our food even arrived because we didn’t feel we could enjoy our meal after being treated that way.

We went elsewhere (boombozz, across the road) and had a wonderful time friendly service, great food, and a completely different atmosphere. It’s such a shame because we were looking forward to dining here, but this experience left us genuinely shocked and...

Came to pick up 2 Uber Eats orders and it took them 45 minutes to finally give me my orders. They had only 5 tables and I saw the amount of tickets they had to make and it wasn't all that much. They were by no means busy. The line cooks had no sense of urgency and would stop and look at their phones every few minutes. I complained to a server after 30 minutes then at 45 minutes the night manager walked up and slammed down her schedule book or whatever it was and with a snotty tone asked "Can I help anyone?!". I expressed my dissatisfaction with the wait time and how things like that effects my pay as a delivery driver. She responds with a bunch of BS excuses with a nasty condescending tone. I was told multiple times by multiple people that my 2nd order was about to come out only for this rude manager to go over to their to go cubbies and pull out my order that had been sitting there for at least 15 minutes. She handed it to me and in the most condescending snotty tone say "Well would you look at that. It's right here." Then had the gaul to say "Have a good night." In the same rude tone. The entire situation was offensive and unacceptable and I will be discouraging everyone I know from going to this establishment if this is how they resolve issues they...
