Was here with a friend, we were talking to a stranger at the bar for a bit; witty banter. 5 min later my friend, blonde woman, wanted to call back to our conversation and said “sir” to get his attention since we hadn’t gotten his name. She said “sir” one too many times apparently because the bouncer/security, Rashad, stepped in and said “ma’am, he does not want to be bothered”. It turns out the guy was just a few drinks in and didn’t know that she was talking to him, but Rashad insisted it was his duty to defend the guy from being addressed! I thought this was overboard, and ask Rashad if that’s really his job, to step in between conversations? He said yes, and then said we could finish our drinks and leave! Guy at the bar said it was all good, he was happy to talk, but Rashad doubled down. I tried to explain to the bar tender that this was absurd, but she said “I don’t know what happened”. I then said fine, I’ll just leave a google review of this experience, charge back the credit card. At that point Rashad grabbed me, attempted to pull the beer from my hand but knocked it into my teeth, then forced me out to the bar physically! As if this wasn’t all too much, he added that he was going to “clock out and kick my ass” before the front door person finally put an arm around him to get him back inside.
tl;dr I was kicked out of red door for threatening to write a google review of our experience. Well, here...

Upon arriving the bouncer was rude and acting as if he hates his job and could care less if we came or not :( he then gave my brother a vet a hassle because his military id was expired which my brother apologized said he though he had his new one and gave him his current driver's license to which the bouncer replied right should have just gave me your DL first and not waisted my time...wow
Went to use restroom and they are trashed had to call a friend to come to bathroom to bring me napkins for tp. Oh and all while i was holding my plywood stall door closed because no locks and not that it matters they are spaced so far apart that you can see through them. Here is the thing it really takes alot for me to give a bad review and honestly i feel bad for having to write this one but wow was all i could say after being there for 20 min and finally decided to leave because of these things. The good things about this place it wasnt super busy even though the town was and the decor of the bar was nice big outside porch for extra seating. The bartender was upbeat and fun really interactive with guests he...
Read moreThis bar is hard to review because it’s technically two bars. You walk into the door to a cloud of smoke, a girl literally humping a guy, and two guys blocking your way with voices raised. At least that’s what my husband and I walked into. We got to the bar and I looked at him and said, “One drink, we stand outside, then we leave.” At that moment, we noticed the Chicago memorabilia and joked about how no bar in Chicago even compared to this awful place. After getting our drink(and the front bartender was great btw), we decided to walk a little further to the back side of the bar. It was wonderful. There’s shuffleboard and lots of seating around the bar and back windows. The atmosphere and people were completely different from the front bar. For shuffleboard, you give your ID and card to hold the table. I would have this as my local bar if it were closer, no complaints!! My husband and I joked that the front bar area was like wrigleyville and the rest of the bar was like the rest of lakeview (for anyone from Chicago, I’m sure that makes 100% sense). I’m giving four stars because the service was wonderful. Get rid of smoking and the awful college age kids coming in, and it will be my favorite bar...
