I recently visited Green Hour with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience was nothing short of a disappointment. The service was shockingly inattentive from the moment we arrived. After waiting for a staggering thirty minutes for our cocktails, we were left frustrated and unimpressed.
When the drinks finally arrived, they seemed to have been mixed up. We brought this to the server's attention, only to be met with disbelief as he acted as if this was impossible. It’s baffling how a bar that specializes in cocktails can’t get the basics right. Instead of addressing our concerns, he seemed more interested in defending the bar's reputation than ensuring we had a good experience.
We decided to give it another chance and ordered a second round of drinks, only to face yet another thirty-minute wait. The lack of urgency and care from the staff was astounding. It's unacceptable to wait so long for drinks, especially when they don’t even get them right the first time.
Overall, the service was subpar and the drinks were a letdown. I expected much more from a bar that specializes in absinthe. I won’t be returning, and I can’t recommend Green Hour to anyone looking for a quality cocktail experience. Save your time and money and...
Read moreThe Green Hour is a bar run on big ideas and thorough execution. Jordan and Jeremy run a tight ship and push boundaries in the way of mixology, food pairing and experiential drinking. The menu is reworked and has plenty of non-absinthe drink options for those who don’t like a licorice flavored alcohol. Odds are good it’ll be the best version of that drink you’ve ever had. The staff at the shop is a blast to hang out with and there’s always a diverse group of characters hanging out at the bar. I advise getting there early, because the place is very small and it doesn’t stay empty for more than a few minutes after opening, and seats don’t open quickly with the quality of product they’re putting out there. Be patient with the staff, they usually only run a staff of 2-3 people but work extremely hard to make sure everyone has a good time. If they could seat everyone, they would seat everyone. They’re extremely kind and tolerant, but they also have to work with a limited space. This isn’t a bar on Broadway; great things take time. As long as you go in with an open mind and the intent to try something new and exciting, you’ll have...
Read moreHad been excited to try this place due to the interesting concept and chocolate pairings, but my bf and I were majorly disappointed. My “nice gin” cocktail just tasted like straight ginger beer. No complexity or balance of flavors. They served it at the table by first lighting a rosemary sprig on fire in an empty glass. After the server put out the flaming glass with the cocktail I had to wait a couple minutes after burning my lips on the hot glass. My bf’s drink the “cello sunrise” tasted like plain citrus juice. The server forgot one of our truffles and the white chocolate one just tasted like a Hersheys hug and my orange balsamic truffle was super mealy and the chocolate tasted chalky. Service wasn’t great and then when you swipe your card the automatic tip amount is set to 25% unless you change it. On top of all of that the place is quite dark and the music kept on getting gradually louder. I was practically shouting to my bf across the table by the end of the evening. This place is all show and no substance. With all of the great options in Nashville don’t waste your time...
