Every time we are in a different place I always have a rule of trying some place new, a local spot, or something simply not a large chain restaurant. So we ended up ordering out from Emmy Squared. Definitely did not quite understand what our expectations for this pizza place should be. Had we known when we ordered that we would be ordering small pizzas it would have changed our orders. You live, you eat pizza, and you learn.
Now with that being said, let’s talk about some yummy food. We ordered three pizzas and an order of wings. The wings were absolutely delicious and the ranch was great too, highly recommend! The first pizza we got was the “Angel”. It had mushrooms on it and some other goodies and the folks who ate it said they really loved it. We also ordered a “Hawaiian” pizza and it was delicious! It did not last long at all. Pepperoni, pineapple, and a hot honey drizzle set this one off! If you have someone who doesn’t like heat ask for the hot honey to be left off, because it is very warm. The last pizza we got was the “Big Ang”. This one did not connect with us very well. Sausage and Banana Peppers, I thought it had the making for a good pizza. However, it did not connect with us. I was the only one to eat any and that was just one slice. I’m sure I will finish it off over the next couple of days, but that is more to avoid waste than actually enjoying it.
As far as the “Big Ang” goes even though we did not like it, it is not a bad pizza. I respect it had high quality ingredients and preparation, but the taste just didn’t work for us. I’m sure it will for other folks.
Honestly my biggest gripe was for three small pizzas and 10 wings our bill was just shy of $90. I did not feel this was a $90 meal, especially with an entire pizza basically going uneaten. Not an everyday meal, but a fine “Treat Yo Self” experience for those...
Read moreInsanely impressive cocktails. Ryan served us masterfully and Marcus also gave us some incredible recommendations. As a cocktail enjoyer myself, they won me on so many points in order of notice. They served me a unique cocktail in the proper glass-wear and icing (served up) that it should have been for the style (I ordered the seasonal pear cocktail, can’t remember the name), and it was great Not overpriced for the quality at all Proper ingredients Functional garnish of desiccated citrus wheel Excess espresso martini that my friend ordered was still served with a cute little espresso bean on top which is an attention to detail I can only both chuckle and applaud After talking more in depth on cocktails they asked me for my next at which point I was well confident enough to say “dealers choice,” and they pulled out a bible of cocktails which made my heart flutter (a sign of infinite possibilities and knowledge) Marcus recommended me a cocktail I’ve never had after Ryan asked me my preferences. Ryan then, in my opinion, recreated the cocktail deliciously even though he had never made it before (a show of proper skill)
I had already ate and therefore did not try the food so I cannot honestly comment on it. If it’s anything like their drinks I’m sure it’s delicious but I cannot leave a rating in good conscience. Perhaps next time. I hope that doesn’t hurt their ratings though and if it does I will amend however I can because my experience today easily made my night.
Overall after being so burnt out on overpriced and underskilled cocktails in Nashville, I have finally found two bartenders who know exactly what they are doing and have checked every box in my book (for whatever...
Read moreI don’t normally write reviews but the service that we had here was just… odd to say the least. We walked in and there was only one other occupied table in the restaurant. We were seated quickly but then it took about 10 minutes for a server to come to our table. The server then said “Do you know what you want to eat?” Nothing with an introduction let alone asking if we wanted anything to drink. So, we politely said not yet and placed our drink order and when those were brought back we were asked the same question but we asked if we could place an appetizer and continue looking at the menu. The Zia fries were very good and once we got those, we finally ordered dinner. When our entrees came out, our server just dropped them off at the table without saying anything. Not a “does everything look okay?” Or “can I get you anything else?” I would’ve loved to have a sauce side or red pepper with our pizza but by the time we were able to get her attention it had been about 20 minutes. Instead of saying anything, she brought over a small to go container (not a pizza box) without asking us and simply said we should be able to fit everything in there (we had approximately an entire pizza left) and then brought the check. We were never asked if we wanted another drink, how the food was, etc. I wouldn’t recommend the spicy chicken sandwich if you are wanting a buffalo type sandwich because it’s completely different. The food was fine but nothing great and definitely not worth the prices with this type of service. I would’ve understood if they were slammed but we really were the only other table in there which just made it a very...
