I've been to Mexico dozens of times and love authentic Mexican food. Either locally or when I travel I always seek out the "real" thing. Not the Americanized version chain restaurants like Las Palmas, but the hole in the wall places run my Mexicans where the local Hispanic population chooses to eat. They're usually, but not always in less than prospering areas.
While in Nashville last week to visit a friend I mentioned I'd like to eat Mexican and he suggested a chain restaurant which I vetoed. Instead we went in search of the aforementioned hole in the wall place and found La Delicia off of Linbar drive. At straight up noon we entered and the place is decorated wonderfully. It wasn't crowded, being off the beaten path, and had perhaps 1/2 a dozen Hispanics sitting at tables. A good sign. I ordered chicken chimichangas which comes with rice and beans and my friend ordered a burrito, I think and a salad.
In a word.. the comida was muy bien. Everything was perfect. The service was first class. The atmosphere authentic ... Very nice and clean. For a few minutes I was back in Mexico. The only option I was given was to come get it myself now or on a later date. I ordered and paid for delivery because I did not want to go out. And in my humble opinion nachos w/o queso aren't nachos! I feel that it was their mistake, so they should have found a way to fix it. They dropped the customer service ball...
