Oh where to start w this ADN program? First of all, I am currently enrolled, but I wish I wasn't. My instructors are knowledgeable, but the rest of the staff absolutely do not care abt you. They lie to get you in the door for your money. This program has been nothing but drama since I started, and I have already looked into transferring and I'm not even finished w my 1st term. The DON is clueless and so is the rest of the administrative staff. They are rude, rarely respond to emails, and when they do, their responses are condescending and in a manner to belittle you. It is total chaos. I have already been accused of not attending class and was going to be unenrolled, but after speaking w the president, he pulled up attendance and it was 100%. Some work they make you do, but they tell you it will not count towards your final grade, but if you don't do it, you are penalized. The instructors are the only silver lining in this dark cloud. But in 1 of my classes, the other students were trying to get the instructor in trouble bc they basically didn't want to do the work, so they kept complaining to admin that she wasn't doing her job. I mean, really?! She is one of the only good things going for this program and they're trying to cause her all these probs. I went to take my HESI and they got mad bc I didn't bring my laptop. The DON sent me an email w the date and time and NO OTHER INFORMATION IN THE EMAIL. How was I to know I was supposed to bring my laptop if the DON doesn't tell me? Final verdict- stay far away from this program bc while the instructors that I've had so far are good, they can only carry the program so far. Admin is horrendous, does not care abt students only their money and your tuition is through the roof here. The 2 yr program is over $49,000 but bc I have my LPN pic and some transfer credits, my tuition is $36,000 for LPN to RN. I am seriously getting scared that the education I am getting from this institute will NOT prepare me to pass my boards...
Read moreGoing to this school was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. I was there for the nursing program. If you've been an LPN or have some type of medical experience you could POSSIBLY pass .. but someone like me who has no medical experience at all please HEED MY WARNING. These teachers do not teach, you will be on your own & no point of asking for tutoring because you wont get it. I wish I listened to the reviews here on google but I was a fool! There are a mixture of reviews here so I chose to continue applying to this school. I cannot speak about the other programs but for nursing, this I can tell you: GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! I am purely saying this out of love brothers and sisters b/c they will screw you over. They welcome you with open arms (no wait list or any requirements) , then they will throw you out like trash. I wish I had someone to tell me this (I did but I didnt listen). Their credits do not transfer anywhere! not even the prereq classes (A&P, math, microbiology, speech etc...), so trying to go to a different nursing program will be frustrating because you will have to start all over. Also, a lot of times some schools say if youve ever failed a nursing program at any institution, youre not eligible to apply to their nursing program. Please do not waste your one chance on this school... I want people to learn from my mistake. I'm currently applying to another nursing program and its very frustrating to be so close to graduating (6 months left in the program), then having all that taken from you. I wish you all the best of luck in continuing your education. If youve chosen to continue pursuing this school......
Read moreThis review is not for Fortis Institute as a whole because as of now they definitely do not deserve 5 stars at all. I am intentionally holding off on reviewing the school until I’ve completed the program in February 2026. To be honest, the experience so far has had its challenges, and I want to give Fortis a fair chance to finish strong before sharing a full opinion.
That said, I do want to take the time to give recognition where it’s truly deserved — and that’s to Jordan, our Clinical Coordinator. Although his official role does not require him to teach, Jordan voluntarily stepped in to lead one of our classes because he recognized that we were struggling and learning better with his teaching style. That alone speaks volumes about his commitment.
He consistently goes above and beyond his responsibilities. Jordan doesn’t just tell us what we want to hear — he actually follows through and delivers. He creates full PowerPoint presentations for every chapter he covers, answers all our questions with patience and clarity, and brings a level of knowledge and dedication that has truly made a difference for our class.
Educators like Jordan are rare. He genuinely cares about student success, and his actions prove it every day. No matter how the rest of the program unfolds, Jordan’s support has been a highlight of...
