What used to be pretty good deli was a waste of time and energy. I wanted to bring cold cuts home for my family. They made me feel like I needed an appointment to buy food from them. I waited more than 40 minutes and they simply could not get my order right (tried literally four times).
The manger was involved the whole time and he was as confused as everyone in the kitchen. He started to make excuses and blame me for not calling ahead. I asked him to please stop and reconsider his position as he is in the business of selling food and calls his place a deli. The menu has 1/2 pounds of meat on it. He made it seem like they had to bend over backwards.
They left things out, added things I did not order, got the wrong items, tried to push two loaves of bread on me instead of one, couldn't pull the order together. I asked for 4 buckets of pickles and they brought me one. I asked again for a total of four and they brought two more. We're up to three. Now if you can bring one more please we're there.
I finally just bought the items they did pull together even though they were still missing sliced tomato and cheeses. They offered to give those to me for free but I decided to pass since I had been there forever. I left a 20% tip because the nice waitress at the counter was very apologetic and attentive. It wasn't her fault.
Wish I had gone next door to Whole foods which has an actual deli where they actually sell things. Save yourself the frustration and don't come here. I'd rather drive to Atlanta for Deli than eat here.
One more note, they don't have actual boiled bagels (just rolls with holes). So even if you're just looking for a bagel, I'd...
Read moreAte breakfast here 7.30.2011for my sons birthday. After waiting almost an hour we were seated in a booth near a window. We ordered drinks and noticed ants crawling on the wall and near the window. We pointed them out to the waiter who stated that workers were there yesterday and caulked the window to stop the ants coming in. We killed 7-8 ants but decided to eat anyway. I ordered french toast and when I picked up the syrup bottle I noticed 4-5 bugs floating on the top of the syrup. I pointed it out to the waiter and he rolled his eyes and took it back to the kitchen. Shortly after, a manager came to the table and apologized for the ants and stated that a bunch of dirty looking kids had eaten at the table that morning and they looked like they had been riding dirt bikes and probably brought the ants in with them. I guess he didn't know I road off road motorcycles for almost 10 years, professionally, and I can never remember having ants on me after a day of racing. He them sent over, for the 4 of us, one slice of plain cheesecake. I hope the powers that be from Noshville are reading this because when customer service needs are at an all time high, we get excuses and cheesecake? You should have comped the meal, after the apology and then returned again before we left to apologize again and make sure we were satisfied. We were not, and I'll make an honest effort never to return to Noshville for a meal. I tried to find the manager again before we left to let him know how I felt, but he was no where to be found. Sad we dropped almost $60.00 before the tip and had such an...
Read moreI've been wanting to come to Noshville Delicatessen for years, so when my friend canceled on me, I did not change my plans.
I arrived around 9:45, and I was seated immediately by a very fun host. My server was April, and she was kind, attentive, and even a little funny also. I ordered black coffee and water, as is my usual. They arrived quickly, and I ordered my breakfast: lox, eggs, and onions. I chose the everything bagel and to keep the potatoes as my side. This was an excellent choice! The potato cakes were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The lox, eggs, and onions paired wonderfully with the potatoes in what was just simply a perfect bite. As an afterthought, I think a touch of sour cream may have topped it off, but it really didn't need anything else. They have it and I totally could have ordered some. I might next time. The lox was so delicious that I ordered some extra to go with my everything bagel I am taking home.
All together, this was $28 + tip, which is pretty affordable for 2 breakfasts in Nashville, and my breakfast was pretty quick. I paid and got my takeaway lox before 10:30! They've been in business since 1996 for a reason. Though 1996 doesn't seem that long ago, it's apparently been quite...
