Best greens in Nashville!
Y’all! Listen. Why hasn’t anyone told me about this place?!? My husband and I found this gem after a trip to McKays’s. I cannot say enough good things. First, walking in is like walking into a fairy garden. They describe it as an “Immersive dining experience,” and they are not kidding. The neon lights took me back to the 80’s in NJ. The mix of 80’s, 90’s, and 00’s R&B playing throughout did not disappoint. They said they also have live music and karaoke most nights. The semi-circular booth turned a random, ”Where should we eat,” to a full-blown impromptu date night.
Once we got over our awe of the place, Dylan (hope I spell that right) took care of us. He handled the rush that came in shortly after us very well. He made great recommendations and was patient when we couldn’t decide what we wanted. I never felt rushed.
To start I got the Candy Land drink which was absolutely delightful. If you don’t like the taste of liquor or if you like lighter, fruity drinks, then this is the perfect drink for you. It even comes with gummy worms and a light in cute pineapple shaped cup.
For an appetizer, we ordered the soul eggrolls and omg let me tell you! I have never had anything like it before. They take their short ribs, collard greens, and macaroni and cheese and put it in their version of an eggroll. The vinegary greens, creamy, cheesy macaroni, and tender meaty short ribs awoke tastebuds that I thought died with my chemo. Then I dipped them in the sweet and spicy chili sauce that comes with it and HOLY WOW!
For my entree, I got the baked chicken with greens and mashed potatoes. Like the true four-year old I am, I go straight for the potatoes, slightly disappointed I don’t have gravy. NO ONE TOLD ME THEY HAD BOURSIN and what I can only guess is crack, in them. The herby, garlicky, creamy potatoes would be insulted by gravy. How dare I even consider such an atrocity? I give hubby a small bite. His eyes roll into the back of his head. My next bite is the greens, and usually I have to add vinegar and hot sauce at restaurants cause apparently no one knows what flavor is, but not today! They were perfect as they were. Then onto the chicken. It was succulent and juicy and nostalgic. It reminded me of the chicken my dad would roast in the oven with vegetables, and it was my favorite dish; I yearn for that food, and this meal took me back.
My husband had wings and fries. The fries were battered and seasoned well. They were crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside. He said the wings were crispy, well-seasoned, and juicy, especially the drumsticks (we’re normally flats-people).
To finish the meal, we had the bourbon caramel pecan pie which melts in your mouth and tastes like heaven. It was the perfect way to finish the meal. We barely were able to move after our amazing feast. I have no idea how I’m going to enjoy thanksgiving tomorrow when I just ate in a fae garden and dined on the most incredible food. Do not skip coming here if you’re in West Nashville. I hope on of them sees this post because they killed the service and the food. We will definitely be regulars in the future.

Read moreI’ve visited this establishment on 3 separate occasions(lunch, brunch, and dinner). Every time there has been an issue. The first time I visited during lunch hours because I was skeptical of the prices and the food quality. The lunch menu was cheap so I opted for the loaded fries. The fries contained straight fries, nacho cheese, onions, bell peppers and grilled chicken. That was a terrible combination. It was mediocre at best. When I was given my bill I was told the gratuity that was on my bill was for the entertainment (which there was no entertainment at this time) and not for the server. Also, the server stated if I put the tip on my card she would not receive it. The only way for her to receive the tip was if I sent the money on cash app. Very alarming to me leading me to believe I was being scammed. This is the first time I’ve experience this at an establishment. The next time my cousin decided to take me out for my birthday and although I was reluctant because of my first experience I went. I order salmon over rice. The presentation was good and as I started eating I decided to flip my salmon over and much to my surprise a thick black hair was under my salmon. I was taken aback because had I never flipped it I would have eaten it. Also, my cousins catfish was as thin as a dollar bill. I was astonished! The food cost too much to be anything but the best. The third time I visited this establishment I was celebrating my sister’s birthday. This time I did not want to patronize this business due to previous experiences. I decided I would order something cheap and just celebrate my sister’s birthday. I decided to order the chicken and waffles. The menu said it was $16. When the server entered it into the handheld device the price said $20. I immediately showed the server the price. The server alerted the manager (Keisha) and the manager said it’s an old menu and the new price is $20. Again I’ve never visited an establishment that would disregard the error and not honor the price. Additionally, my boyfriend and I ordered chicken and waffles and our meal came out 20 minutes apart and presented differently. I was given syrup and sauce for the chicken tenders but no confectioners sugar. My boyfriend didn’t receive any syrup or sauce for his tenders but did receive confectioners sugar. I have given this establishment 3 chances and every time they failed! Side note, they charged a dollar for a small cup of ketchup… (will be pictured). Aside from the food mishaps the decor is overstimulating. There is entirely too much going...
Read moreWhile in visiting Nashville I went to TikTok for help. Of course "Soul" was the place to go if you wanted the whole vibe. The entire day I was so hyped and ready to see what the fuss was about. Pulling up to establishment the parking lot was packed, pple having to park across the street. So I got even more excited. Super cute entrance, was greeted with a smile by the hostess and seated immediately. The ambiance was different, but a cute different. And the DJ was playing some good music. It didn't take the waitress long to take our drink order. We ordered the Island Thing and Soul Glow (BOTH TRASH). Nothing but ice and mixers in both drinks. I informed the waitress but she didnt offer to fix the issue. 😔 I asked for a hookah but I was told that we had to sit outside if I wanted one. Too hot to sit outside. 😟 We placed our food order...I ordered the Oxtail plate (they weren't available) secondly I ordered the lamb chops guess what (they weren't available), at this point I didn't know what to get. So I ended up getting the BFC (Best Fried Chicken) plate my sides was mac&cheese and mash potatoes n gravy...guess what they didn't have any gravy...lol so I got cabbage. My other party got pasta and added shrimp and salmon. FYI the shrimp wasn't peeled. He had to literally peel every piece of shrimp in his pasta. 🙁 The salmon was cooked great. Another thing when I got my food he was halfway done eating his food. It took that long for me to get my plate. The mac&cheese was soooooooo overcooked that I had to send it back. Replaced it with an overcooked bowl of unseasoned rice (HORRIBLE). The cabbage tasted like it had been sitting in oily water (HORRIBLE). The chicken was fresh and just okay. My party spent over $100 and it was the WORST $100 I've spent on an evening outing in a long time. I was really really excited to visit this place and it was a total let down. My waitress acted like she had a long day and was tired. Almost everytime she came to the booth she sat down or look around she was sitting at front.😃 She didnt try to fix anything. Even when she came and asked about the food. And I told her my concerns, she just made comments about the chefs and kitchen staff. 🤣 The only good thing about this experience was the cute pictures that I took in front of...
