Paul, the owner of A Piece of Mind, went above and beyond for our dryer issues! We bought a Whirlpool from his store last year. Not long after it was installed, the unit wasn't drying our clothes, no matter what size the load. We've been running 2 to 3 cycles every time we've done laundry! We had our apartment carpet service come out twice to flush out the lent buildup in the walls, they even showed me a handful of what they unclogged one of the times. Well, nothing changed, our dryer was still working horribly. Fast forward to today. I called up the store about the issue still being found. So, Paul told me he would come out to take a look at the situation, even though it was way out of warranty at this point, convinced the wall was still backed up with lent. Sure enough he showed, and revealed our vent to my gf, which was not even flushed out! So, it hasn't been the dryer not working, it's still that THE WALL IS STILL BACKED UP WITH LENT! Turns out they flushed out SOMEONE ELSE'S wall, like what the hell?! Paul came all the way to our place just to show us the wall is still full of lent and didn't charge us a dime for it! I feel bad he came all this way just to confirm what he already knew with us, but I am so grateful that he did come check everything out for free. Paul has such a good heart and really cares about his customers, just be nice to him. You won't regret purchasing from his shop, and you'll sure as hell appreciate his hospitality and drive to see his customers 100% happy and satisfied. We bought a used front loader LG washer and dryer from Peace of Mind. I took 2 days off work - one to go buy the units and another to wait on the install guy to deliver the units and install. He didn’t make it the first day he said he was coming (they gave us no phone call) so I had to take a third day off of work where he installed the unit. Shortly after the 90 day warranty expired, our washer leaked and flooded the first floor of our home the day before Christmas Eve (imagine that), we had only used the washer and dryer a total of 10 times because my wife and I travel for work.

At no point did I complain, but I did call Peace of Mind, acknowledging the window had closed for the warranty, but to see if I could pay them to come fix the unit. They were very nice on the phone and said they would call me back. They never called me back. We took matters into our own hands running through the entire LG instruction list for diagnosing leaks and communicating with LG directly. The whole works. It flooded our apartment again - and it was clear to me that this wasn’t a normal wear and tear issue, but an obviously known issue when the unit was sold. My wife and I cannot afford to purchase another unit, and we don’t have it in the budget to fix the units as we’ve exhausted our options, and now have water damage in our rental.

If Peace of Mind had simply communicated to us effectively, I would have believed their small business + good people model. I have no faith in either of those notions. They sold me a lemon, and I fell for it. Don’t make the same mistake I did, and preserve your own...

I wish we’d have visited and purchased our washer and dryer from Peace of Mind first before going through a monthlong headache with TNT (not wanting to badmouth another business on this review, but our experience with them was terrible and when it comes to this sort of thing, I always appreciate helpful transparency). I can’t begin to describe what a relief this experience was. Everyone I encountered from beginning to end—-on the phone, in the store and at our home during installation—was completely candid, honest, informative, helpful, courteous, friendly and truly took their time to help me make an informed decision. They also clearly take their time working on their appliances before putting them on the floor. The owner immediately told me everything he’d done on the washer and dryer I ended up buying. They also delivered just a few days later—much quicker than just about anyplace else. We’ve had our washer and dryer for a few weeks now and they work great, which is all we wanted and need! We wanted to save money & be a bit more eco friendly by purchasing used, but didn’t feel comfortable buying off Facebook marketplace, etc. — you never know what you’re gonna get there and, while used appliances are always a bit of a gamble, with a used appliance store, we figured we’d have at least some extra security.
