Pros: The food on the original tea experience menu was fabulous. I truly believe the chef is talented. The tea menu is expansive and appears to be house made, or maybe locally sourced. The vibes were fabulous. Small and quiet, I feel it does deserve the cottage label. The little trickents for purchase around the cottage are on theme and local.

The cons: Service was severely lacking for my table. Examples are as follows: We had to ask for every piece of silverware. Legitimately we were given one fork and one knife for our entire table. This was not finger food. We were not told anything about how to pick out the tea despite us checking in at the front and being directed to our table. It took over 15 minutes for anyone to give us any direction. The direction was "Have you picked out your teas yet?" We explained that we hadn't been told to pick out tea nor given a list, and the response was "They're on the wall" (in the other room). I would've appreciated a polite acknowledgement of the mixup and more direction. When I reserved our table, I was asked about dietary concerns, which I gave. Despite both written and verbal confirmation (on the required phone call to schedule a reservation) the dietary concerns were not accomodated for in advance. The substitutions given, while a great attempt, were lacking. (A sandwich with only one topping, meat, was given in exchange of a quiche. There weren't any condiments on it. While the bread and meat were tasty, it still was a bummer given the notice I gave, and the rest of the table's menu.).

Given the cost and how far in advance we reserved, I don't feel the service was appropriate. Aesthetics, immaculate. Service, subpar. I would love to see this unique...

The Troll House Cottage is truly one of Donelson’s hidden gems! From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted with an atmosphere that feels both magical and welcoming. The exceptional tea service is unlike anything else in Nashville— beautifully curated, thoughtfully prepared, and served with such care. Every detail has been so intentionally designed by Damon Johnston, the incredible owner whose joy and creativity radiates through the entire space.

The food is absolutely phenomenal— fresh, flavorful, and plated with artistry. Damon himself, along with his wonderful staff, bring such warmth and joy to the experience. You can tell they love what they do, and it makes every visit feel special.

Beyond the food and tea, the atmosphere and history of the property make this a truly unforgettable place. It’s charming, inviting, and full of character, a space that feels both relaxing and inspiring. Conveniently located right near the Nashville airport, it’s the perfect spot for locals and travelers alike.

If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind experience filled with hospitality, phenomenal food, and a setting that feels like a dream, Troll House Cottage is it. Damon Johnston has created something truly special here; a place you’ll want to return to...

Came for the first time with a friend for a tea party. Booking was straightforward simple. The interior is captivating, and you can tell each item was hand-selected and placed just so. The decor was magical and cozy. I could have sat there drinking tea all day! Aside from the atmosphere, the food was fantastic. Loads of tea choices (you can pick two each for your tea party) served with cream and honey in adorable swan dishes. We received a three-tier serving dish filled with sweet and savory delights. The sandwiches were delicious - I especially loved the peach preserve one. The sweets were perfect - we had shortbread, scones, and lemon posset. The lemon posset was truly to die for. I will think about that one for awhile. All in all, a wonderful and unique experience that I look forward to sharing with more friends and family. The gift shop was awesome I got the cutest wildlife coasters. There is something for everyone in the gift shop, great selection. Thank you to the staff for the most...

This is a cozy little place in Donelson with nicely decorated rooms of charming gift items, jewelry, clothing, household items, trinkets, plants, pet items, candles, soaps, things for kids, puzzles, progressive and pride items, self-care products, lots of locally made products, and much more. Troll House Cottage also serves great coffee and tea, some basic breakfast and lunch items, and pastries. Indoor and al fresco seating is available. The lunch prices are too high for grilled cheese sandwiches, but it’s a cute space, the staff is friendly, and the place has a nice vibe. We’ll be back for sure

One of Donelson’s gems! I took my daughter here for a Cottage Tea over her fall break. We absolutely loved it! Delicious food. Delicious drinks. Friendly service and the atmosphere was so warm and inviting. A bonus is you can also shop for some really cool and unique artisan items from pet treats to succulents. We were lucky and we got to try the brand new seasonal muffin Pumpkin Pecan. So good! If you love Oolong Tea they have one from High Garden Tea that was beyond a 10. They serve breakfast and lunch as well. Get yourself to Troll House Cottage and you will fall in love I promise!
