tropical smoothie has always been a favorite of my family going to tropical smoothie as a restaurant chain since we lived in South Florida so roughly around maybe 16 or 17 years give or take.
Anyways now I have a daughter that jumped into the fun with tropical smoothie and truly does love it as well. She loves the kids cheese quesadilla and the smoothies without a doubt.
This particular location at the time we visited which was on a Saturday afternoon was totally fine although it did seem like the employees may have been a little nonchalant though we're still kind and pleasant. No issues in my book.
Food was prepared and made very well with no issues whatsoever in a very timely manner.
The only let down I've had at a tropical smoothie which isn't a let down from this location but more as a company as a whole is years ago they did away with the King Caesar wrap and changed it over to this green Caesar chicken wrap or something like that. At any rate it's nowhere near as good as the King Caesar wrap as I feel like the sauce in the King Caesar wrap was more flavorful and as a whole the wrap was larger chunks of chicken and as a whole just had a better flavor and balance. I wish they would bring this back on the menu because it was absolutely amazing and I'll be totally honest and say that there was never such an occasion where I was able to go to tropical smoothie in order just one. I always picked up two because they were so stinking delicious and that isn't something I can do with the new green Caesar chicken wrap not only for Price reasons but also I don't feel that the new flavor profile of this is worth me needing two of them
The King Caesar wrap is the biggest reason for me giving them four stars...
Read moreWould give zero stars if an option. Ordered online. Receipt said food would be ready in 25 min. I show up 35 min, no food ready. I let them know my name when I got there and she turned around (I assumed to prepare my food or wrap it up to hand to me). After the second smoothie was completed for another costumer that had clearly ordered after me and multiple sandwiches that weren’t mine. I walked up (it had been 20 min, they were busy doing things the whole time), girl #2 picks her nose while I’m talking to her (not making this up), I ask for a refund as it had now been an hour since I made my 2 smoothie 2 sandwich order. Girl I spoke to originally decides to pipe in and say “she thinks someone else picked up my order.” How it didn’t cross her mind to quickly make things right for me or even let me know that when I arrived blows my mind. Boy (must be supervisor) has to do the refund, but is unable to refund the $3 tip I also prepaid. So not only did I waste an hour and not get my food, but they also stole $3 from me.
Called corporate to report my experience and they wanted to send me an $8 gift card, which I refused as honestly didn’t care to return after that horrible experience and they wanted basically all my personal info (they already had my email).
I also am not one to write reviews as I am in the service industry and know there are challenges, but they way they responded to each error was pretty crazy. As a manager myself I would be so incredibly embarrassed as to how they handled everything, I understand it’s hard to train people in things that seem so basic to costumer service and we are all hurting for good help these days. Watched employee wearing disposable serving gloves, walking around the store, not helping her coworkers, gossiping on the phone, and touching everything in sight with her gloved hands, including the top of equipment and the walls. When I saw her reach over and handle my flatbread, I jumped up and advised 1 of the 2 girls working that I didn't want the sandwiches I ordered because of what I had just witnessed. The young girl apologized and said she couldn't refund my online order. I asked if she would make my sandwiches instead of the other, and she agreed. Then, the center of this stores problem, the other unsanitary and lazy employee, marched up to the counter and literally started yelling at me. She denied touching anything...as she was holding the store phone in her gloved hand...brilliant. The dark-haired white lady was working her ass off. The young, kind, and hard-working black girl was great. The young black girl in pig tails, stomping around on the phone and gossiping and arguing with whomever, should be fired. Store managers, just ask your 2 actual working employees about the incident, and they'll tell you about it and who the problem employee was.
