Had the grilled cheese. The bread was hard (over toasted/over grilled). For the cost, the sandwich was small, the side of kettle chips served with sandwich was underwhelmingly small as well. Had a drip coffee as well. Coffee was equal to a gas station brew. Service was awkward. Atmosphere was awkward. Interior is awkward. Place lacks originality and character. Compared to positive visits and products worth the value in years passed, for me, this is no longer a place worth visiting.
**In response to the owner's feedback on my original review. Correct, it was during the fall. No, I didn't bring it to management's attention, as it says in my review that it was a take out order. Also, ordered 2 drinks (1 being a drip coffee) which neither me nor my child finished. I'm not sure why it was gone into great detail about a grandmother and granddaughter's experience with you mentioning a receipt. You probably should apologize to those customers for rambling on about them as your assumption of your customers is incorrect and that is not my receipt that you are speaking of in your feedback. I'm glad that you state most people commend your atmosphere and decor., but that is to each their own as is my review/rating of the Nashville Daily Grind. I received an email asking for me to rate places I have visited and that is why I have left a review in the first place. And my review/rating is based on my visit experience and my overall opinion of the food, service, and atmosphere as requested in the rating. I should probably also mention the negative encounter I had with one of the owners after business hours as well on a separate day. After waiting for some time they initially refused and gave a rude attitude when it was requested they move their vehicle to allow my children and I to finish exiting the alleyway. We turned into the alley and we were behind the vehicle and the vehicle parked as we were behind it, we saw the person exit the vehicle and I requested to be let through before the person went into the building. We were told they were unloading items, yet no items were being taken in/out at that moment. We waited until the point I felt as though we were just being made to wait. So, I went in and asked for the vehicle to be moved only to see both owners talking and nothing being unloaded/loaded. The one owner was just outright rude about it, maybe they were just okay with making a mother and her children wait in an alley while they chatted when they could have pulled up to the parking spot just a few steps away from the unloading door. And no, I wasn't going to back out of an alley into the roadway. I had previously heard from others that the owners were rude. My experience when I ordered food and drink in the fall was not that way, the employees just seemed awkward; I assumed it was because new to opening. But the other experience proved the rudeness to be true. Whether during or after business hours one should be mindful of how they treat others. Praying no other customers...
Read moreWorst Americano I've ever tasted in my life. Scratch that, worst cup of "coffee" I've ever tasted. It was horrible. I ordered the simplest drink on the menu aside from just a regular shot (my husband ordered an espresso shot and was equally disgusted) and it was horrible. I don't think they actually ran the espresso machine when making my drink, it may have been one that was pre-extracted and just sitting waiting to be used. If they did actually extract it, it was the fastest shot that has ever been pulled. The result was an ashy, burnt sludge resembling coffee but tasting like ashy burnt sludge. I drank one sip, even after smelling it, and couldn't bring myself to choke down another. If you like flavored coffee and poorly made hot beverages masked in warm milk, whipped cream, and pumpkin spice syrup, you're in luck! But if you have any appreciation for the simple pleasure of an espresso-based libation, stay far, far away. You'll find nothing resembling that here. Also, since I'm nitpicking, my stale blueberry muffin was mislabeled and was actually chocolate chip. It did help take the nasty taste out of my mouth after drinking their coffee, though,...
Read moreIf I could give a negative star, I would. The staff, mainly the head guy, is absolutely rude and inconsiderate, as if they don’t even want you there in the first place. With the town being generally dog friendly and this place having no sign on the door saying otherwise, I was immediately berated “to get my dog out,” and even without him knowing my dogs service status. I am a local and I remember the horrible owners previously, so it’s unfortunate that these owners have followed that same path. This is my second time having horrible personal interactions there. Coffee is decent but not worth the $8 they charge. I will not go back and I’ll make it my mission that no one else I know does either. Getting coffee should be a joy of an experience as it is generally what brightens everyone’s day, so to have a genuinely mean owner of a local coffee shop is very unfortunate as I’m sure he ruins many days for hard...
