Do I start with the rude, slow service or the overwhelming cheese flavour/underwhelming burger or the late night sickness? My mom and I were maybe…5th in line. The cashiers were busy chatting to one another and counting/collecting tips from their jar. The main cashier was grouchy and was yelling for tape and the other lady said, “no, I am grabbing the money so we have change.” We waited 15 minutes for 3 people to go ahead of us… when we got to the cash she didn’t apologize for the long wait. My Mom ordered a bacon crunch burger and asked for it well done. I ordered a regular crunch burger and the lady just stares at me for a solid three seconds and sassily goes, “so is it going to be medium or well done?” After ordering the two burgers she goes, “any sides?” We said no and she goes, “yeah, I see. You two just can’t be bothered” and rolls her eyes. I know - this doesn’t sound like much but she sucked. We got our burgers within five minutes and took them to go. The crunch burger’s meat had absolutely no flavour. The American cheese completely overpowered the burger and the sauce was like a bit of a kick queso cheese sauce. None of the burger made sense and I wanted more chips. It was severely lacking. My mom got the bacon version of it which was alright - only because the bacon gave it some flavour other than cheese. A few hours later I was sick which I know was from the burger as we’d just flown in and only had a light lunch before landing. When I was sick in the room my mom went to get water and met a man in the elevator. When chatting, he mentioned he was checking out a day late. She asked if everything was alright and he said he thinks he was ill from a burger he’d eaten Earlier in the day at the casino- my mom asked if it was Bobby’s Burgers and he said yes! He had the same burger cooked medium. I eat my burgers and steaks medium and rare so it’s not a case of something unfamiliar in my stomach… I feel the meat wasn’t good or bacteria wasnt cooked off. All I know is I won’t be back! I’d rate this place a zero for lack of flavour, sickness, slow paced setting and rude service. Don’t go here!...
Read moreI have to admit, when I saw Bobby Flays pic on the poster for Bobbys Burgers, I not only assumed it was going to be good, but upon seeing the prices, I counted on it. "Bobby Flay perfects fast food burger" ran through my mind and convinced me to fork over $55.58 of my hard earned money for just two cheeseburgers, one order of onion rings and two Pepsi drinks. I was taken back by the cost but felt it was worth it for what was sure to be a Bobby Flay culinary experience.
Lets start with the burgers. To summarize, they taste like cheap meat doused in salt, covered in American cheese to make them more salty. Did I mention they taste like salt?
And Bobby, why ask if you want it medium or well when ordering? Maybe to make you feel you are getting a fresh handmade burger instead of frozen? You gotta love those marketing guys. You even get a little sticker telling you its medium, just like a real gourmet burger. But in reality, the burgers are pre-made frozen patties that are impossible to cook medium even for an "Iron Chef". My wife's burger was well and mine was well, but I did get the sticker. Hey, did I mention they taste like salt?
It just feels like Bobbys Burgers preys on tourists who see Bobby Flay on TV winning competitions and making good food assuming they are going to get the same at Bobby's Place. But I doubt this place would ever make it without the constant flow of unaware travelers who see the Bobby Flay poster in and around the hotel and never bother to check the reviews before going. I was one of them. Hey, did I mention my burger...
Read moreLazy and disrespectful, I assume, manager? I was standing in line 15 minutes till closing time when the person standing in front of me pulled the retractable black belt looking thing on the two post across the line. This blocked me off and my initial thought was " what is this drunk person doing." I walk around the barrier just like she did, but I stepped back in line while she walked behind the counter. This was initially confusing, but I realized she worked there and was trying to control the intake of additional customers close to closing time. I assumed she didn't realize I was in line right behind her and just continued standing in line. Well, she saw me in line, and I was not the two people in front of her when she closed off the line. This resulted in "We are closed, those are my last two." I said I was already in line and you don't close for almost 20 minutes. I was given the same response "We are closed. Those are my last two." I just want some fries and express this. Again I am met with an almost verbatim dismissal "We are closed. Those are my last two. Cafe Americano is still open." No idea if the food is any good, but customer service skills are worse than if someone replaced her with any random in Las Vegas holding a...
