I have been a long-time fan of Roberto's greasy awesomeness, however, this time not so much. In fact, my last run-in with Roberto's was from this location, and it resulted in me black-listing Roberto's from my diet both now and quite possibly indefinitely.
July 12th, my friends stopped by with an order to-go, including an order of carne asada super nachos. They brought it over to me (I was about 2 minutes down the road that day), where we all set down and enjoyed our meal. The meal looked like it always did. Nothing jumped out at me at least. I had poured some of their red sauce over the top of the nachos.
However, within minutes of finishing, I felt quite uneasy. Gas, bloating, sour feeling. I figured, well, I just some good old greasy goodness, so maybe it's just gassy after-effects.
We hopped into a car and moved forward to our next location and made it about two lights away before I started feeling worse. Sweating, numbness throughout the body, upset stomach. A few more lights and I was trying to blackout. I got out of the car as soon as I could and (unfortunately) rid myself of everything I just ate (sorry, I tried my best to make that as G-rated as possible). It was intense, but I immediately started feeling better. Within a few hours (and plenty of slowly consumed water), my body (albeit, a little sore from all of that), had returned to normal and it was over.
It was as if the stomach immediately knew something bad was consumed and needed to go. Similar to if someone consumed moldy food (ie, cheese, bread, etc). Again, nothing looks out of the normal when we were eating. But the trigger was absolutely what I ate. My water consumption throughout the day is above normal, and it wasn't a hot day or anything. I wasn't overdoing it on anything, nor did I over-eat (in fact, I ate less than usual due to the immediate on-set of the experience toward the end).
Now anytime I think of Roberto's, I am going to sadly remind myself of this and therefore may not be visiting for quite some...
Read moreAbsolutely TERRIBLE customer service. Their food is not consistant with other Robertos locations and the staff and managers are rude and unnecessarily argumentative. I ordered a bacon breakfast burrito which I've had many times from many different locations and it's always very good and consistant. When I got home I realized they had given me the wrong meat so I called to let them know. The woman argued with me on the phone telling me she gave me the right thing. She asked me to bring the burrito back so that she could see it for herself and then she'd give me a refund. I told her I would be happy to bring it back, but that they could just make me a new one with bacon and that they didn't have to give me a refund. She informed me that she would not have them start making the new one until she saw the first burrito with her own eyes. Really?? Ok, so I brought it back and showed her and she and the cook continued to argue with me that the giant (literally 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch thick) cube-ish chunks were bacon and that its the same kind of bacon they've always used (not true). I finally gave up and said ok, I'll just take the refund then bc I can't eat whatever this kind of meat is. The cook was yelling in Spanish the entire time and the woman told me that he said they would no longer serve me at that location lol! Like, over a refund on an incorrect breakfast burrito? I was not loud or rude AT ALL and have never had previous altercations with staff there either. I left and drove up the road to the next nearest Robertos location and SURPRISE, got a breakfast burrito with bacon the way they always come. This was such a ridiculous experience. They didn't need to "blacklist" me bc I'd never go...
Read moreStopped by to grab dinner and this location very clean, but the only issue was the restrooms didn't have any hand towels ( very minor issue). I ordered the Carne Asada Fries and my wife ordered a wet burrito ( bean and cheese burrito with enchilada sauce and cheese on top).. I read the reviews about this location and I truly disagree with a lot of the negative comments about the employees and their language barrier, helping themselves to cups and other various complaints!. Every single business has its off days and quite often at times are short handed, but don't act or take it upon yourself to demoralize an employee because of their accent or feel they aren't moving fast enough to cater to your lack of personal professionalism!! When we went in to grab dinner, the cashier had zero problems with understanding us and we had zero problems with understanding her, and if you feel the need to take something past that invisible line past the register is called theft!!. The food was great and we are definitely returning because of the outstanding service from each employee...
