a lot of this was my fault. this a cumulative review of my recent sonic experiences. i usually go to this place once in a while but for the past month or 2 my sister and i have become regulars. i love going esp since i always have a craving for a cherry coke. i like how they add the flavoring so the cherry flavor is less watered down compared to when you go to an in and out. yk the food is good i enjoy the food for the most part it’s just certain things like not providing napkins at a place that’s a drive thru or a place where people typically eat in their car i should prob ask but tbh i thought yk at least one of these times someone would have the curtesy to put in napkins yk but what do i know. There’s also some really long wait times but yk i get it some times its short staffed i get it i work in food. The second to most recent time I asked for groovy fries which im guessing now is just what they call the fries but I remembered getting an ad that with groovy fries you get groovy sauce. Idk if that’s just not offered at that location or I should have specifically asked for groovy sauce but i thought with the videos I saw about these fries yk the groovy fries came with groovy sauce. Both times I asked for those fries and did not get groovy sauce. Idk maybe they thought i said curly fries idfk. Maybe I just need to be louder it’s just me personally I just don’t want to be too loud and be perceived as a b*t(h yk. I asked my sister to check the bag and she didn’t so it’s my fault I should of checked the bag or asked for groovy sauce just in case(if it even exists or if it’s offered at other locations). This particular day today I went with my sister cause we craved classic cruisers, we also ordered the fries and mozzarella sticks. What kind of set me over the edge was this time I talked to a person today and asked him/her/they to confirm the order and I asked him/her/they to confirm there were groovy fries and the worker confirmed there were groovy fries. My sister didn’t check the bag, I probably should of checked but yk I just wanted to go home. The person also handed me 2 cruisers with the lids they put for drinks with whipped cream. I was gonna ask if they could put the appropriate lid yk to avoid spilling but the person looked like they were in a bad mood and I tried to avoid being annoying, I could of asked for a drink carrier too now that I’m thinking about it but yk I apparently wasn’t thinking then and put the two drinks on my drink compartment holders in my car. So one of them spilled while I was driving home and I was really annoyed cause all of this could of been prevented if I just asked the person to change the lid or to have a drink carrier or yk for the wonderful crew member to see that it was the wrong lid or explain hey we ran out of these lids would you like a drink carrier. But I get it it’s prob a teenager who struggles with school work life balance and didn’t want to be there or someone who dropped out of school and now feels this job is their future. I’m just annoyed but yk a lot of this is my fault. I could of just held one while I was driving I could of done a lot of stuff I could of just got my own Coca Cola and some cherry syrup from tjmax and make my own. On the bright side the melted ice watered down the soda so my car was a bit easier to clean. Would of pulled over and cleaned it after it spilled but yk no napkins in the bag so cleaned when I got home. Yeah im a Karen ik but hey if you are an idiot like me maybe don’t go to a fast food restaurant if you feel like you can’t prevent messes or if you just get easily annoyed. The ironic thing is that ill prob be back cause my sister is the one who asks for this stuff, i usually eat stuff at home but maybe we’ll try dairy queen or just save my money and gas. Read moreCame back while working. Service is so slow. I waited thirty minutes in drive thru one day because they had a bad customer that threw food back at them in the window. That I feel bad about. Another time we ordered drink ahead. But one was missing the boba. Lady said after we received the order and we’re ready to go, that “we’re all out” . Okay hut we ordered online.. “you did??? I’m sorry we don’t have that. “ I get that the app doesn’t always know the product inventory, but that was an extra dollar. Okay a dollar is not a big deal, but only “sorry we’re out” and no compensation. Let’s say this place is just frustrating But this recent visit, I was in driver thru one thru waiting 20 minutes. It was a pick up order and should have been ready. At least by the time I got to the window, it was. But then no drink carriers?!?!? Then I made the mistake and forgot to ask for extra napkins. I parked and pushed the red button. No answer after two minutes, so I got out of my car and went to speaker in the patio. Pushed that red button and still no answer. I looked inside the building, at least 7 employees and I signaled to them. Finally someone saw me and that took an additional three minutes. I’m sorry but this sonic is not worth any food. The service is so slow, inadequate employees because they seem to not be trained properly (it’s not their fault if they aren’t trained), food is honestly nothing to brag about. -May 2025
place an order through the app and the app froze. Closed out the app and no longer had a check in button for my order. Pulled into Sonic at 9:22 PM. Push the red button and nobody answered. Push the red button a second time at 9:28 PM. Nobody answered but you could see plenty of crew inside the restaurant. People were just talking and I did see one gentleman take one order out to a car. Surprisingly did not see the drive-through move at all though. Push the button again, the third time, at 9:32 PM. One minute later, as I continue to look at the restaurant I see, a large gray mouse, climb down from the roof down the wall to the ground in front of my vehicle. Read moreGiving one star only because Jayden (manager) who was on duty tonight 5/30/2021 at 8:45pm handled the situation well. He had patience and also their blue coconut shake is amazing. Anyways, Aaliyah on the other hand who had a wise mouth needs a customer service class! Unfortunately no one at Sonic knows how to run their credit card machine properly. The back of our credit card is missing the part of the strip, so only the chip works. Anyways for some reason their chip reader wasn’t working as well, we asked Aaliyah if she could manually punch it in, she went to ask her manager but came back to inform us “only our general manager knows how to do it manually”. Long story short what made us very upset and lose our cool was when we asked Aaliyah for her managers name, she kept saying ummm ummm, so we asked her to call her manager and she literally told us “WHY?” Yes she said “Why?!” With an attitude. Jayden who came to the window and said he was the manager handled the situation the best as he could, he did apologize for not knowing how to manually punch in our credit card for payment and also for the way Aaliyah his worker handled the situation.
We are just upset and will never return to this Sonic location on Durango due to Aaliyahs horrible “WHY?!” customer service
Also want to mention that the girl at the drive thru window was on her phone, Personal cell phone during our whole situation. First girl who took our card. Didn’t get her name. But you are at work and on your cell phone, this place is a joke.
