Mark's Feed Store — Restaurant in New Albany

We drove all the way from Evansville, Indiana to eat at Mark’s Feed Store bc my Mom had heard about the fried corn and she is obsessed with corn lol. We looked up the menu online before coming and signed up for their emails and received a coupon for a free 1/2 order of Onion Straws. We ordered those, and the Sampler Platters (had Honeywings, Brisket, Pork, Ribs, and 2 sides, and a kids meal with chicken strips and Mac & Cheese. The food was AMAZING! I loved the sauce that came with the onion straws! The wings were my fave! Crispy, juicy, sticky and suacey!!! The spicy fries were good as well! My Mom LOVED the corn! It was fried, and topped with a white bbq sauce and spicy fry seasoning. The Mac cheese was super cheesy! Huge portions! The service was great! The manager came afterwards and asked about our food. We told her it was our first time and loved it and since it was our first time she gave us a complimentary bottle of sauce of our choice and a card to get 15% off for the next 30 days! On the way out we seen a pig statue that my daughter wanted her picture with. We noticed there was a sign and if you take a pic with the pig and upload it to Facebook you can get a free kids meal or appetizer! Guess we will be making a trip back!...

Before I go on a little tangent, I'll start off by saying the fried pickles were amazing, a serious hit, and highly recommend giving them a try, and the pulled pork salads were really good too (opinion from my parents). Now for my tangent: I was assuming the New Albany location would have the same quality food as the Bardstown location... That is where I went wrong. Though the food was good (besides my own), I ordered a BBQ Burger with a gluten free bun; what a monstrosity: tasted like cardboard that was pulled from the trash and molded into a bun. I have had plenty of GF buns in my lifetime because I am about 99% gluten free. I had zero complaints about them at the Bardstown location, but the New Albany location was so bad and it made my burger taste bad... 3 stars only bc the server was tentative to the table and he was very kind. Everyone else did not have issues with their meals, maybe it should be a 4 star, but the bun really made my food taste so bad. First time eating at Mark‘s barbecue feed store. The name is weird. Do not let it deter you! This was amazing!! Our service was completely outstanding! Probably one of the best service we have ever had at a restaurant! I cannot say enough I am thoroughly impressed with Alicia J!! She was completely attentive, she knew everything on the menu and all the questions that we had. Because we were first time customers, we even got a free pie and a barbecue sauce, which was beyond expectations. She was so friendly and so energetic and just awesome! Our food was great. The pulled pork was a little bland, but we understand a lot of people like to sauce it up. The honey wings were so surprisingly delicious. We wish we would’ve had more but was way too full to even continue. Super shocked about the potato salad. It had egg in it and it was absolutely delicious! Pleasantly surprised. They do it right!
