I don’t normally make reviews on places but this place definitely seemed like it needed one. This was our first time eating here and we were very disappointed!!

First, there were flies everywhere!!! We kept swatting them while trying to enjoy our appetizer and meals. Second, we had fried oysters as an appetizer and they were tough and honestly didn’t taste the greatest. When our meal arrived I quickly noticed the corn pudding was burnt (yes, it was black!) and it tasted very, very dry. We then proceeded to taste everything else and none of it was good. The cole slaw was awful with no taste to it and the mac and cheese was dry as well. The potato salad didn’t even taste like potato salad and was gross. We had a slice of white bread to go with the pulled pork and we were told we could help ourselves to the different sauces up at the counter if we wanted any. Now that really didn’t empress me because they should have that on the tables. For me, I am suffer from some back pain and had a knee replacement and as for him he is suffering from back and knee pain so walking all the way up there and back with small cups of sauces was an inconvenience. Now, after getting back to our table with the sauces we quickly found out that the pulled pork was definitely not what we were hoping for. It was soooo dry the he got choked on it and kept coughing and having a hard time because it was stuck in his throat partially. Now you would think since his glass of Pepsi was empty they would come refill it for him hearing him coughing like that but nope nothing. He continued coughing and getting louder with not one visit to the table from the waitress and they weren’t busy either because there were only 2 other tables seated inside and there was another waitress working with her. Third, as bad as the food was and how disappointed we were, well let’s just say we were even more disappointed by the bill. For 2 people it was a couple dollars shy of $100!!!

We were just amazed at it all and definitely decided we will NOT be coming back!!! Please don’t waste your money or try it for yourself and make your our...

We’ve been here several times now and gotten to try a little bit of everything. As is the case at their sister restaurant Cypress Hall, the cocktails are fantastic. We are also big fans of the fritto misto and accompanying lemon aioli.

Recently came back for pizzas and loved the variety of meats and the olive tapenade on the Muffuletta, but we were sorely let down by the lack of clams on the Vongole (photo attached). When you’re paying $60 for 2 pizzas, the least you can ask for is every slice to have some clam on it, right? Instead, it was like eating garlic bread doused in Parmesan with the occasional random clam. I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed (and expected better from an establishment with an otherwise impressive menu).

I will say the staff here are exceptionally nice and friendly. The post-Prohibition remodel is a much-needed facelift and the new outside bar is gorgeous. Just please fix the one annoying crooked 2-top against the wall!

UPDATE 6/23: We came by again and were blown away by the casarecce pasta! Loved the broth and flavors + the added bonus of being served in quality dinnerware that kept the pasta hot throughout the meal. They were trialing soft shell crab on Fridays or something so we got a full crab added to the pasta and I have to say — this is the BEST soft shell crab in town!!! The crab was on the smaller side but the batter was fantastic — just the right amount, lightly seasoned, and fried to a perfect crisp. They’ve really nailed it. Their take on tiramisu is a bit untraditional but it is amazing nonetheless. You’ll be on cloud 9 until the last bit of perfectly sweetened cream!! Highly recommend treating yourself to the...

We ate lunch at Harry's BBQ today and I should have read the other reviews on this place before going. I want to first say that our service was great, the server was attentive and came to check on us several times to make sure our drinks were full and we were satisfied with the meal. But the food was a complete disappointment. The food here itself is not great I would say quality-wise wise it is subpar for BBQ. I had the brisket which may at one point have been juicy and tender but was way overcooked and dry, they blamed it on not having a food runner but after looking at some of the other reviews i just dont think they care about the quality of the foid they are making. Their sauces were ok the best was the pepper vinegar but I'm not sure how you could mess that one up. They also had some very odd poorly made house sauces one was wine-based, another honey ketchup and an herb sauce all very overpowering and none of them had a correct consistent flavor. The sides were small and they served it with a texes toast style milkbread which may have been the best thing on the plate a slice of toast was better than the meat. We ordered a pizza but for a bbq place having a third of your menu as pizza throws up some red flags that we should have seen when first sitting down. We noticed that a lot of the entres on other people's tables weren't finished either probably due to the low quality...

I love BBQ so we hit Harry's BBQ last time we were in New Bern. We sat on the patio even though it was cold and were super comfortable. For an app we tried the burnt end hominy tots. They were larger than the what we expected but were crispy. The burnt ends were good but a little dry. For entrees we tried the pulled pork sandwich, pork belly, house made pastrami, house made sausage and sliced brisket. All were good. Only complaint was I wish it were smokier. The brisket did not have a thick smoke ring like i had hoped. But it was all delicious! The brisket was my favorite. It had a good bark. For sides we tried the cole slaw, onion rings, mac & cheese, and hush puppies. The mac & cheese and onion rings were the best out of that group. The slaw was bland for my liking. Overall great food. Great atmosphere. Definitely worth a second trip back.

We visited Harry’s BBQ for lunch on Saturday with friends. The food had some bright spots, but the atmosphere unfortunately took away from the experience. The music—very loud, high-intensity “rage” music—was overwhelming both indoors and outside. We asked several times if it could be turned down and were eventually told the bartender controls the volume. It left us feeling unheard as customers and made conversation difficult. Food-wise, the Fig & Pig pizza was the highlight: great crispy crust and good flavor (though a little more meat would have been nice). My husband’s grilled chicken sandwich, however, was underwhelming with no grill marks or flavor. Service was efficient, but the overall vibe made the meal less enjoyable, and we likely won’t return unless the music/atmosphere improves.
