It's been a long time, but I thought I'd try Musashi again since they expanded into the old McAlister's space next door. The good news is that there is more space for people to eat without having to sit at the standard Teppanyaki table. The bad news is your food will not be as hot, nor will you enjoy the "show" that comes with your food! I had the salmon lunch special with the soup (chicken broth) and asked for white rice instead of the fried version. Although it was lunchtime, there seemed to be priority for seating at the Teppanyaki tables. Everyone else had to fend for themselves at a normal table. It took several minutes for a server to appear. NO greeting, NO friendliness, and NO smile. Man, that costs nothing!! We only had one menu because we grabbed one from the hostess station. He immediately asked for our order, despite us saying we needed some time. Then it took another five minutes for him to return. We ordered the salmon lunch and Mary roll, and waited...and waited...and waited! My pitiful salmon took 3-0 minutes. Yes, 30 minutes to arrive-ridiculous! The Mary roll looked great and was excellent. My salmon, not so much. Oh, and despite the very good Mary roll, my salmon, white rice, and (their words straight from the menu) the "oriental vegetables complemented by our own seasonings and exotic sauces" was neither seasoned nor exotic. It was, in fact, soy sauce. Additionally, wherever it was cooked took certainly less than 30 minutes. It was barely warm. So...I came, I tried, I left, and will probably not be back unless something changes with server professionalism, timing, and...
Read moreFirst time dining at this establishment. I generally do not leave reviews but the experience warrants this review. Had a party of six. Sat at the hibachi grill. Before being seated I stated that my family would like hibachi but I would be having sushi. I was assured that was not a problem. Received menus. I had to ask for a sushi menu. I was given a sushi order form. I then had to ask for a menu with descriptions. Food was brought. Rolls were beyond mediocre but one roll in particular was in my opinion not edible. I can count on one hand how many time’s I’ve sent back food but, this roll was honestly that bad. I asked the waitress to take it back. She took the plate with a disgusted look and not a word of apology. Then, I can only assume it to be the owner/manager came to our seating and began to very rudely tell me that they’ll take it back this once but they will never do it again all the while pointing at the menu with the description. I said nothing as this was already embarrassing enough and I didn’t want anymore undo attention brought to us in the middle of dinner. I paid our 144.00 bill along with a sizable tip. Waited for my family to have gone to the car and then pulled the manager to the side and told him how unprofessional his behavior was and suggested that he reconsider treating his customers so badly in the future. Again, I was met with rudeness and zero apologize. I personally will never be dining here again. I can only hope this review helps in the manager understanding his actions and...
Read moreLet me start off by saying this is one of my favorite restaurants in town. The food is good, fast, and reasonably priced. The only thing that this restaurant lacks is a pleasant wait staff. The many times I have been there the wait staff has been okay, not too cheerful, but happy enough that I wasn't inclined to leave. This unfortunately leads to my recent unpleasant experience. The waitress took our orders and when the chef came out and reviewed my wife's order before he started cooking, it was wrong, no biggie! We told him the correct order and he began cooking, but the order still came out wrong (she didn't get her extra veggies). I'm human, I know we all make mistakes, so I wasn't angry, nor was I confrontational when I informed him of the issue, but the chef decided to become incredibly rude and condescending to both me and my wife. We got up and left.
I told the lady up front about it before we left, but when I got home I realized she probably wasn't the manager so I decided to call back. When I did speak to the manager he proceeded to be rather unapologetic about it and said it was merely a miscommunication, which I agreed with, but when I informed him that a miscommunication was not an excuse to be rude and patronizing to customers over he didn't really seem to get the...
