Cicis Pizza — Restaurant in New Braunfels

I am absolutely shocked at how badly this place was… I haven’t been to cicis in YEARS so I was looking forward to eating here. As soon as we walked in the place was messy, tables had not been cleaned & there was no where to sit, I had to ask someone to clean off a table so I could sit down with my kids. There was almost no pizza to choose from except pepperoni & cheese, & when we tried to ask someone to make a certain pizza we ended up waiting 5 minutes before someone acknowledged us. When it came time for us to eat dessert I noticed they had no brownies out, so we asked them if they had any & they cut them straight out of the pan & handed us a few…. Let me tell you it was the NASTIEST, coldest, most inedible thing I have ever put into my mouth… even my 2yo who eats anything especially sweets turned it down after having a bite… so I went back up there & asked for them if they have warm brownies… the manager (didn’t get a name but female manager with dark hair) said they don’t make the brownies warm that the only reason cicis has “warm brownies” is bc the heat lamps they sit under on the line… so I asked her if she could buy them out on the line to get warm… she very rudely said she was not going to be doing that since no other customers were asking for brownies… I WAS IN ABSOLUTE SHOCK! People probably didn’t even know the brownies were available since they weren’t put out, but to serve brownies that were so cold that I wasn’t sure if they had just taken them out of the cooler is absolutely not okay! I wanted to be happier about having Cicis again but unfortunately I was extremely disappointed… makes me wish they had never closed the one in...

Have not been to a CiCis in years as the one that was local to us had closed, so glad we passed by and stopped in today! EVERY employee welcomed us in and thanked us for dining with them as we left. They were all incredibly polite and well mannered. All of them stayed busy and handled themselves well behind the counter, I personally work in an open kitchen as well and keeping things tidy and organized back there can sometimes be a challenge. We dined in on a Monday afternoon. There was a good selection of pizza, fresh tea, and the buffet was restocked multiple times while we were there. It was very clean, no excess crumbs, the pans and spatulas were all neat as well. I haven’t been to a Buffett since before covid started, we were not sure what to expect as so much as changed but definitely pleasantly surprised. Had our old favorites and tried some new as well!! We will be ordering out for pizza night here from now on. Excellent job, keep it up, and we’ll see...

They have renovated so much bigger game room. The food is okay. I would say though the best part of the experience going back after several years is the service, both of the managers or manager and assistant manager were so super friendly. One approached me at salad bar asked how I was doing and because I was friendly and responded with conversation she said can we make anything for you told her basically came in for the Bavarian dessert pizza she asked if I wanted her to make one I told her I'll ask for it after stuff my face with salad and pizza and that I was going to just purchase one to take home. She took it upon herself to have them make one anyways so I could get some while I was there. I just found this to be most pleasant experience I've had there. It just seems like they have everything more put together and better now. Keep up the good work. Great team...
