Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in New Braunfels

I had an incredibly disappointing and offensive experience at this restaurant on New Year’s Eve. I understand it was a busy night, but that is no excuse for the passive-aggressive and rushed service we received. The waitress made us feel unwelcome, rushing us through our meal, even hovering over us and cleaning the table while we were still eating, as if we were an inconvenience.

What made the experience even worse was her shocking and inappropriate comment. When I, a Black man, spoke to her in Spanish to alleviate a communication barrier that led to an error with our meal , she had the audacity to say, “With all due respect, it’s shocking that someone of your skin color can speak Spanish so well.” This was not only ignorant but blatantly offensive.

I came to this restaurant expecting good food and a welcoming atmosphere, but instead, I left feeling disrespected and dehumanized. It’s 2025—this kind of behavior is unacceptable, and management needs to seriously address how their staff treat customers. I will not...

I came from AZ and my mission was to find the best non Tex mex style Mexican food. Turns out I moved down the street from an incredible spot. Something similar to what I’d get back home. This place is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever had. I always get the chicken breast plate and the Mexican steak plate with a side of salsa and queso.

I’m moving out of Texas this week so wanted to make sure I gave this place the review it deserves. Im siting in the dining room writing this review as I pick up my last to go order before we move out of Texas in a couple days. I come here weekly and couldn’t leave the state without having this place one more time! The staff is amazing, the service is quick and the food is THE BEST!
