I had been wanting to try this place for awhile. The menu looked fantastic. We walk in before the Sunday Lunch rush comes in. The young kid takes our order. We both opt for Lunch speacial. I get the Hunan Pork with fried rice and we ordered Garlic Chicken with fried rice. The plates came out quickly. The food was good. The veggies were crispy and the chicken and pork were tender. That is where it stops. The sauce on both plates tasted very "sweet" and had a similar flavor to it. We never say the young kid again. I had to flag him down to bring us our check. Service was "lackluster" after the kid brought our food to us. The owner was also taking orders and bringing food out. It looked like it was just the owner and the young kid working. They needed an extra person to help out. I was not sure what was going on in the room next to the dining room. There was a loud obnoxious couple who was making a town of racket and it was hard to have a conversation.
Overall, the Lunch special was not worth the price. If you go to other Chinese places, you do get soup in addition to your rice and entree. You did get a large portion, which was nice; but, it could have had a better flavor, as both dishes almost tasted identical. The Eggroll that came with the meal was also "soggy" and very "chewy". I was expect a fresh, crispy one. We both agree we came, we tried it, but will...
Read moreI just tried my first take out order here, the food was still very hot when I received it. I ordered their lunch special General Tso, potstickers and wonton soup. The chicken in the General Tso was CRSIPY, just the right amount of sauce and the perfect amount of heat. Although I loved the heat the way it came, I could have used more spice but I’m always afraid to ask for my dishes extra spicy because you don’t know if it will be too much heat! I ordered my potstickers steamed, THEY ARE DELICIOUS! Probably some of the best potstickers I’ve had in a long time!!! The dumpling sauce was equally as impressive, so much flavor in both! Then I ordered a wonton soup, the broth itself is pretty bland but most of them are since is such a simple soup. The wonton itself is delicious, it does have a little bit of a stronger ginger flavor to it which I’m not a huge fan of but it’s nothing they did wrong. It’s just my own preference. It could have used a little more meat in it but again. It’s just me, I’m a wonton soup person! I was a little disappointed I didn’t get my egg roll with this order but I’d imagine is just as delicious as everything else. Finding a good Chinese restaurant here in New Braunfels has been a challenge since we moved here, this one will be my go to moving forward!!!! I think it safe to say everything is good here so give it a try, you won’t be...

So to begin with the menu was rather confusing in terms of drinks. I asked about the 'bottle' selection and the waiter quickly corrected in that it was a fountain beverage. I guess management got lazy in not wanting to change the title. Also the fountain selection was extremely limited at either Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Starry (they called it Sprite, but I could easily see Starry in 2 L bottles) & Fanta Orange. That's it. I ordered the combo fried rice. I'll take the blame for asking for no onions, but also the waiter should at least ask if the customer wants any accommodations with the meal. The fried rice seemed to be just soaked in soy sauce. The beef was just as bad as each piece seemed to have so much fat blended in it that I had to leave 1/4 of the plate as my mouth got tired of trying to chew away from actual meat from the fat. The portion size was fine. The waiter seemed to get the Sprite mixed up with water (never heard of that happening before). Just for context, the restaurant was less than 1/4 full. This is the 3rd time that the business has changed management hands and in the past it was actually way...
