We had a fantastic experience at the New Braunfels Visitor Center! Our original plans for the day were rained out, so we decided to stop in — and we’re so glad we did. The staff and volunteers were incredibly friendly and helpful. They pointed us toward some great alternative activities, like exploring the downtown murals, grabbing a treat at 2Tart Bakery, and checking out the charm of Gruene, Texas. The center itself is a gem: clean bathrooms, good parking, and easy to spot from the road. We also appreciated the free coffee and snacks, which made for a warm and welcoming break. There’s a great selection of brochures and maps to help plan your visit. Highly recommend stopping in to chat with the volunteers — they know the area well and genuinely enjoy helping travelers make the most of their time in New Braunfels.

I needed to get some pamphlets from new Braunfels that had to be sent out by Saturday morning for an elementary kids school project. I did everything I could to make sure that I could drive to the visitor center on Friday, May 1 before they closed. I arrived at 4:30, 1/2 an hour before they were supposed to close. I was extremely dismayed to see that it was closed. The lights were still on and a lady was in there vacuuming. I knocked on the door to just beg her if she can open it and hand me out a brochure. I drove an hour here to get it. She barely looked up at me and indicated that they were closed. I stood outside for another 10 minutes, trying to call the place to let her know my predicament, but the phone number that was provided did not go into it. She just continued cleaning and never looked up at me again. I am so bummed that this happened. If she would’ve just took the time to ask me what I needed, knowing that they closed a half...

Totally worth the ten minutes to stop in and let a local tell you what's up. The lady was super friendly and very informative. You'll get a better lay of the land and you can decide what takes priority, because there is more to do and see than you can accomplish...
