Synthetic Dreams Tattoo Gallery — Attraction in New Braunfels

I was working with an artist named Vanessa. She sent me a design at 11pm the day before my appt to get tattooed. She was supposed to send it at least a couple days before so we could make changes if need be. I didn’t love the design and sent her something else that I thought might be a little better. I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do and I was panicking because the appt was hours away and I also had to work. Anyway, we rescheduled it because I wasn’t positive on what I wanted and then she messages me a couple days later saying she thinks it’s best that we part ways. I told her I wanted her to tattoo me, but we could also do a simpler tattoo if she preferred. She refused so I asked for my refund back since she is the one refusing to tattoo me. She sent me one design and stated that the deposit is going to that. It’s non refundable. I told her that’s not fair when the deposit is supposed to go toward the cost of the tattoo and she is the one cancelling so I should get my deposit back. She refused, the owner said he would correct this and he never reached out. Would never recommend her or the shop. Super unprofessional and stole my money. Another artist reached out to me and offered me a discount for this happening to me. He will do much better work, and I can’t wait to see how...

I have been both a client and employee at this shop.

First, I never want to be tattooed or tattoo anywhere else again. The atmosphere of the people that make this place their home is the most easy-going and humble of all shops i have been to. It makes trusting the process so easy, and the artists as well. Riley is not just a great artist, but a friend of mine who always takes care of my traditional tattoo goals.

Second, the place is so accommodating to everyone I’ve seen walk through the doors. Have a buddy that wants to come hang out and watch tv? Sure. Consultations? Super thorough and informative. A little hungry? There are snacks! The owner Ray is kind to all and it makes it the normative behavior to follow.

I am easily overstimulated when I’m being tattooed at a certain point where I have to just close my eyes or put my head down to get into that “zone”. This shop is definitely not loud or boisterous with people bumping you. It’s not the “ohhh well cry about it!” Or “no pain, no gain!” proud kind of shop. It’s healing, but it can also be playful and fun.

10000/10 experience!! Everyone in the shop was so nice and very attentive! Went in for the Friday the 13th tattoo flash sale all very high quality tattoos for a flash sale! They opened at 11 and I got there at 12:45 signed up and only waited an hour and a half to be seen! Very fast compared to other shops I have been to for flash sales like this! My tattoo took almost an hour to be done because I chose one of the larger pieces with a lot of shading but my artist (Patti) was amazing!! She shard a space with another artist (Riley) and they both were so easy to talk to! That also had movies playing in the room for our entertainment. Patti was super attentive and was asking if I was doing okay or if I needed any water, she was very vocal with what she was going to do with moving my arm around and respecting my body.
