Shipley Do-Nuts — Restaurant in New Braunfels

I've been coming to this location for years. I hit it up every time I drive through on my way to Houston. The kolaches here are the best in Texas. Not all Shipley's have the same kolaches. I got up this morning to grab a couple dozen for my family and drove 30 minutes. The lady working the window today really needs a hug. I am not sure if she is getting paid. Something is wrong. She was confused as soon as I said hello. I asked for two dozen kolaches. One dozen jalapeno and cheese and one dozen sausage and cheese. She shook her head and said, "weight what? What kind of kolaches?" I thought yikes... she saw my smile and immediately got internally frustrated... I repeated it but I accidentally added an adjective that threw her brain off. I said you know the small kolaches you guys sell. She explained to me that they don't sell small kolaches they only sell one kind of kolache. I said, "great, those are the ones I want..." Then she askes me again what kind I wanted. I repeated my order but I made the mistake of using the word "regular" to refer to the second dozen of kolaches. She snapped and said, what do you mean regular?" We have three kinds of kolaches... I said, "what kind of kolaches do you have?" She said," we have sausage and cheese, jalapeno sausage and cheese, just sausage and ham and cheese. I slowly explained that I wanted 1 dozen jalapeño and cheese and 1 dozen sausage and cheese. She then charged me and I took my kolaches and drove home wondering why that was so painful. I love this place. I really hope someone gives that lady a hug or starts to pay her. Either that or take her off the window. Maybe she was just having...

Horrible attitude from the woman shouting from behind the racks just sitting there. My payment went through for a mobile order but for some reason did not go through to the restaurant. Even showed them my bank account to prove I paid for it. Chunky from the back couldn’t stop shouting and being rude implying it was my fault that their website doesn’t know how to properly process payments. Ended up having to pay AGAIN for the donuts. Only giving an extra star to the register girl because she was kind. Be respectful people. Edit: they got our whole entire order wrong. How incompetent do you have to be?

Terrible attitudes of whoever was working the shift today from 10 AM to close more than likely. Was so excited this morning to get my donuts to start my day off right, and I figured I would ask for an iced coffee or some other drink to go with. The rude, white lady working the window rolled her eyes, let out a huge sigh and shut me down immediately. It’s one thing to be so upset when you are at work, but to be giving off that energy to the customers? Give me a break. It truly is the little things these days that keep you going back to businesses, and this is exactly why I will not come back or recommend...
