The Perky Peacock — Local services in New Braunfels

I had heard great things about this place. So when I lost weight and I needed to be professionally measured and sized, I visited the store. I was taken into a dressing room with the owner. I was told to undress in front of her; figuring that this was a professional place, I went ahead to be properly fitted. No measuring tape or tool was ever used. She took a look at me and then brought back a selection of bras. I tried on the bras and they felt really good and it seemed I filled them out nicely. I purchased 7 bras total. I went home, washed them on delicate (I wash all new clothing before wear), and hung them to dry. As the following week progressed and I wore each new bra, I encountered the same problem. I kept falling out underneath the bra. It felt like the band was not the right size, even though I had it on the tightest row of hooks. I went back to the store to exchange them for the correct size, but was told because I washed them and there were no tags, they couldn't resell them and therefore, could not exchange them. So, I went to this recommended place for a professional fitting and did not get it. They wouldn't even stand by their own (lack of) service. In the end, I went to a competitor store and properly got measured and fitted (yep, band size was indeed smaller than what Perky Peacock gave me). This store USED to be an amazing place. In fact, I gave a rave review last year. But today I went in and was immediately ambushed by a pushy sakes lady who, it seemed the mi ute I touched a garment, would say "CAN I PUT THOSE IN A DRESSING ROOM?" or "YOU READY YO TRY THOSE ON?!" all while walking at me with her arms stretched and grabbing for whatever was in my hand. I mean I couldn't shop 2 full minutes without her being up my rear end wanting to know if I was ready!!! I mean, if you don't want people to take things off the rack to try on THEN JUST SAY SO. A simple sign saying PLEASE DONT REMOVE ITEMS FROM RACK- IF YOU WANT TO TRY IT ON OUR ASSOCIATES ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT WENT TO CLOTHES REMOVAL COLLEGE SO THEY CAN DO IT FOR YOU LIKE YOURE A TODDLER. It made me feel like I was instantly suspected of something right when I walked through the door. I literally didn't get 10ft through the door and was accosted. Smh. Twice I have gone in and got improperly sized. The first time I waited too long to say anything about it. The band size was so small I got irritated skin and had to use bandages to be able to use the bra (with an extender). The second time the band is too small again and the cup size was a size too big (I still have to use bandages because it hurts my skin so much). After speaking to the assistant manager and them trying to help and an hour and 15 minutes at the store trying to find a different bra. They had nothing. Granted I’m an unusual size but they’ve had nothing for me since the beginning of the year. Shout out to Kai (I think is her name and the assistant manager) for at least trying to help. $70 later and ordering now 2x for hopefully a bra to come in that might fit me. The people are cool but the options for bigger sizes and such are unfortunately limited. I don’t recommend this store if you’re a band size of 44 or larger and a cup size of K or larger.
