At first glance everything looked extremely promising, however about half way through our meal we began to realize it was all a wolf in sheep's clothing. A bait and switch. We walked in and get situated, and start noticing as we sit: (it got worse the longer we were there) Sticky floors, dirty bathrooms, dirty changing table, grime build up, multiple soda taps out of product, no garbage bins, sticky ketchup bottles that looked like they hadn't been cleaned in some time. All were nearly empty. The arcade machines were dirty and sticky. Our food came, I got the fish and chips with fried okra and texas toast. The plate looked really tasty and was ripping hot. However all lost its glimmer and glow as soon as I picked up the toast and took a bite. The toast was toasted only on the side facing up, the fish looked crispy but was soft and flaccid when you went to grab it. The fries were limp and soggy. The tartar sauce was garbage, I spit it out. The only thing that was good was the okra. It was excellent. The food was expensive too. 3 kids meals, fish and chips, and the double cheese burger was $54. About $20 more than I expected and certainly not worth the price. With inflation I don't mind eating out but if I'm going to spend my hard earned money, restaurants need to be able to produce a quality atmosphere and meal. This place wasn't it. We will not be back to revisit unfortunately. I hope...
Read moreFor starters, we have eaten at this Longhorn Cafe, many times and have had many good burgers here. The past two times we have visited, something has been off. Last time we were served chewy onion rings. I’ve had good onion rings and bad ones before, but never chewy. I don’t even know how that happens. This visit, however was unacceptable. I went in to place a togo order. No one was in front of me at the register and the place was 30% full, on a Friday night. 30 minutes later I received my order of two burgers and one order of tots. I’ve worked in a burger restaurant. A meal like this should take 5-7 minutes to prepare, from scratch! I checked the bag and everything was in there. After getting in my car, I snuck a tot, only to be disappointed by a luke warm and broken to pieces bag of tots. After my 15 minute drive home, we started eating our burgers and my wife asked me if I had lettuce on my burger. After answering, I think so, I actually realized that neither of our “everything on them” burgers had lettuce. It did not seem like the place was under staffed and based on the fact that there is a supermarket with in a 3 minute walk, I cannot imagine how they could have been out of lettuce. Their poor food quality, missing ingredients and lack luster service will make it hard to return to what used to be one of our favorite burger...
Read moreI have visited this place since my first experience at the Universal City Location, and I have always enjoyed my dine in meals. My first visit back since 2020 I placed a 94 $ to go order and man I just feel I got the raw end of the deal all around. Somewhere in communication it got lost that the order was to go, So when the ladies behind that big counter learned this They were Not happy and did not hide it. I AS a customer dont control that, they proceeded to pack items up in a hurry at one point dropping my nephews grilled cheese container on the floor, She proceeded to pick it up and say "It landed right side up".(that doesnt even make sense to Justify this behavior)....Like THAT made it okay to put a container from the floor everyone has stomped across all day and evening BACK into my order, She STILL stacked it with my food like she was going to leave it until my Sister spoke up and told her she didnt want that grilled cheese that fell on the floor. My nephew is HIGHLY allergic to so many things, and that lady could have put something in my bag that triggered an episode. So all around definitely disappointed in our expensive experience. And we will Not be ordering from this establishment anytime in the Near future. Just a PSA....If thats how they are treating your order right in front of your...
