Villanovas pizza — Restaurant in New Braunfels

I was very disappointed with the pricing at this place, which just doesnt make sense! We had ordered two pizzas. One extra Large and One Jumbo. We had a family event and needed the food soon. When we went to pick it up, I was astonished at the bill! Turns out the Jumbo was twice the price as the extra large, even though it only had two more slices!!! I asked them why would anyone pay twice the price of an extra large, only to get two more slices? I guess there was no way to really explain illogical pricing like this, so the lady just said she didn't have anything to do with pricing, and did I want it or not? So I just explained that I was not going to pay around $20 for one of the pizzas, just to get two more slices, when I could have ordered TWO extra large pizzas for the same price as that one!!!!! So we just left, and then had to go and find another pizza place where the pricing made sense, of course this made us late getting food back to our guests. GET THEM TO MAKE IT VERY CLEAR HOW MUCH IT...

This was our first time here. Online ordering was easy and prices seemed comparable to other places. Our order was fresh out of the oven. We got 2- 18" double pepperoni pizzas, garlic sticks and cinnamon sticks totalling $65. The dough was much sweeter than we all expected, which when paired with the mild pizza sauce, only enhanced the overall sweetness. The cheese lacked any flavor and the pepperoni was pepperoni. The garlic sticks were dry and lacked both garlic and butter flavor. The cinnamon sticks had very little cinnamon or sugar and the icing was minimal. In both side items you only noticed the density of the bread.

For a family of 3 teenage boys, that goes through pizza faster than Popeye goes through spinach, and my boys not wanting 2nds or 3rds says a lot. Unfortunately the taste wasn't for us as we had a lot of waste, but if you prefer a sweet style pizza pie then this might...

I was a little concerned when I called in to place my order and the lady on the other end acted as though I was taking her away from something more important. When I showed up to pick up our order, there was nobody at the counter and a guy was hollering at me from around the corner. I appreciated that he was at least acknowledging me but would have liked to have been looking at the person I’m speaking to. Finally a middle aged Hispanic lady came in (I assume the same one from the phone) and again, she acted as though I was keeping her from something more important. When we got home I was again underwhelmed with the pizza itself. It was ok but nothing special. The sauce was kinda of flat and non-flavorful and the pizza was just ok. Honestly, I’ve had pizzas from Little Caesars that I enjoyed more. With all of the other options in town, I have a hard time believing I’d ever try...
