The Assembly Room — Restaurant in New Britain

If I could leave no stars I would. Do NOT rent this space for events in the patio room I had a horrible experience. The lack of communication and organization between the event coordinator and vendors was truly disturbing. My event was from 3-6pm I got there at 1:30 to do minor decorations. They had NOT ONE surface level outlet in the patio room and I was not able to get access to an outlet until 30 minutes in an entire different area of my event because the door was locked and the supervisor was not onsite. The outlet they had in the patio room was on the ceiling. But the ladder and extension cords they had were at other locations so I had to wait for them to get there. They didn’t arrive until 3pm so as guest are walking in there was a huge ladder in the door way. The property manager was not helpful and that was my point of contact he told me his staff was onsite but she actually wasn’t so the housekeeper was trying to do her best to assist me with things but she didn’t know where things were kept. As far as the food fowl play,burrito Loko,Las Tortas MX had my order correct and brought it on time. Honestly the only positive encounter I had. Anthony the manager called me the day before to go over my order. As far as Industrial Bar & Industrial Kitchen I emailed what I needed to order in advance and once I noticed the empanadas I ordered were still not there I went to ask and was told by Andres that he thought the event started at 6pm. And that they were bringing the empanadas for 5:30pm. No one liked the empanadas they didn’t taste like they had any seasoning and were very bland. $90 wasted on 30 poorly made empanadas.

I asked who I can complain to and have been given conflicting responses. Andres told me to write the event coordinator and the event coordinator said I need to reach out to them. & this what I mean by lack of communication and organization.

They are not organized and they do not communicate effectively with each other. So do not waste your time hosting your next event here. I paid $550...

I used to love enjoying a drink and taco here. However, was profiled and extremely disrespected by one of the owners. Recently, I was shopping in the area and needed a rest room. I went inside the assembly room and made my way to the facilities. As I was about to exit the bathroom a MAN entered the door explaining there are no PUBLIC bathrooms there and anyone using them would have to be a customer. I said "okay that's understandable." Even though I thought it was very rude and unprofessional for him to enter a ladies restroom to state this, I made my way to the exit to go to my vehicle. Upon exiting the same man followed me out of the doors and out on to the side walk asking me to wait. He explained that the reason he had to vocalize the new rule is because their had been thefts recently and he was maintaining that nothing is stolen again. I then said "okay but we didn't steal anything we walked right in went straight to the restroom and straight out." He responded with "Well I'm one of the owners and you aren't welcome here!" As he pointed a finger in my face. This is when I realized the STRONG smell of alcohol beverage on his breath. So I asked "Are you drunk?" and with that he began screaming making a scene. "THERE ARE NO PUBLIC BATHROOMS HERE YOU ARENT WELCOME!" I said again "and I said okay! And respectfully left. Now please leave me alone so I can leave" he screamed some more about pressing trespassing charges on me if I ever returned.... I simply walked to my car and left. Needless to say I will NEVER EVER RETURN I doubt this OWNER will ever feel sorry or wrong for how he treated a returning customer but I will never forget... 5 stars to...

Me and a group of friends stop by here after we left an amazing spot a few blocks up the name of the bar is I Know you know. Great atmosphere, customer service and friendly vibes. Get to this spot as soon as we walked in the owner grabbed the pool sticks and informed our party (well dressed group of minorities) that they are broken🤔 Then we order a round of shots 11 Tequilas instead of 10 tequilas 1 Hennessy VSOP. Informed the bar keep she like np let me get you your shot. The owner comes over and says well you’re gonna have to pay the difference Im like ok np… then he goes on to say, well we can’t pour it bck in the bottle. I responded of course not that would be disgusting and nobody asked you to pour it bck I needed it to be exchanged and I’ll pay the difference as you mentioned with np because the wrong shot was given. He quickly cuts me off and says no 11 Tequila shots was requested we can’t accommodate you. Then at the end of the night we closed our tab my friend paid with her card and I was going to tip when he grabbed the receipt from my friends hands he said very snarky “thanks for the tip” not knowing I was gonna tip him after not even providing good customer service. After that we just left. Needless to say I will never return to this...
