Cool Runnin's has been in New Brunswick for quite a long time. This restaurant has a great menu of Jamaican food and even sells cocoa bread. the curry goat is one of the dishes I really enjoy. It is not super spicy. The jerk chicken here is always on point and it tends to be a tad spicy. Although, I love spicy food so it doesn't bother me. The peas and rice are super flavorful and the Jamaican patties are great for breakfast or dinner. This place is truly a hole in the wall so don't expect modern comforts. You just order your food and go. All of the stars are really for the food and service, not necessarily the atmosphere as it is a tiny little restaurant. Given the size there is no accessible bathroom facilities. Parking is available on the street with a few spots for disability parking. If you want faster service call ahead.

I just thought I will give this place a chance. We got wrapped Roti. One stew beef and the other curry chicken. BOTH WERE HORRIBLE. I am from the Caribbean and I'm very aware of the taste of food and these folks have failed miserably! The Roti itself was microwaved because they took it out of the fridge and it was very rubbery. My beef roti had 4 pieces of beef and 2 pieces of potatoes and a garlic. The chicken roti was horrible. Very watery and sweet tasting. After this experience my friend said she don't like roti. I assured her that what we got from Cool Running wasn't authentic roti, horrible first experience. Sadly both meals went to the garbage.

When everyone else's reviews say that the staff here was rude ... they were not kidding! Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service. I ordered ahead so my food was pretty much ready upon arrival. However, as the lady behind the counter was packing my food and putting everything together, she was taking a personal call on her cell phone. I felt like I was standing there for 5 minutes or more just waiting for her to get off the phone! And I heard some of the conversation, so I know it was personal and not business related.

They also messed up my order. I ordered a large jerk chicken with no rice and a small jerk chicken with rice. And they put rice in the large and no rice in the small. The next bad thing ... while placing my order on the phone I asked if I could get a side order of plantains. She said they didn't do this as a side order but that it would be included in the meal. So between the 2 jerk chicken meals, there was ONE SLICE of plantain! What the hell?! The plantains are my favorite part of this meal which is why I wanted more on the side and they give me one lousy slice?! Where was the rest of the plantain?!?!

Overall the food was good, but I've had good Jamaican food elsewhere in the area with friendlier service and who actually give you plantains AND sell it as a side order. I don't care how good the jerk chicken is, customer service is an extremely important part of running a business and I will not be returning here...

Went to the Jerkfest this weekend at Boyd Park in New Brunswick. Me and my friend decided to eat at the Cool Runnings food truck. It was over 80 degrees 🥵. Stood in line for over an hour just to place my order. Upon finally getting to the window to place the order I asked how long was the wait for the food. The lady said 20 mins. It turned into another HOUR AND A HALF!! They were mixing up peoples orders and just slow moving. Everyone was complaining and aggravated with the wait. I started to ask for refund but kept believing the food was coming out shortly. Finally I asked for two cups of ice. I was charged $4!!!! I was so desperate at this point to cool off I paid it but how dare they?? I mean making people wait and you couldn’t even give 2 complimentary cups of ice? Food came and decided to just leave the festival was so aggravated. We ate in the car, food was blah. Hardly any meat and basically just all rice. They need to be better prepared for the demand when serving at a festival with thousands of people. It was almost like they were cooking from scratch....

Terrible customer experience. Can't tell about the taste of the food as I waited after ordering for 40 minutes to be told that they are out of what I ordered. When I walked in there were literally two persons ahead of me who also had to wait for an extensive period of time before they got what they ordered. Call in orders takes priority over walk in customers and would suggest making this known on your website. After the argument over who gets the last container of soup (of course it wasn't me) but no apology after wasting my 40 minutes sitting in your restaurant. Another suggestion please get workers who can deliver fast and friendly service. If the service was good and I didn't get what I ordered things probably would have gone differently and I maybe would have ordered something else from the menu. Needless to say that was my first and last experience at that restaurant but for your future customers please do something to improve the...
