Read moreI frequently visit the other bars on the same strip but Tavern on George usually has a bigger crowd and I wanted to see what it was about. Let me start by saying the seats are incredibly uncomfortable if your at the bar or sitting at a high top. I am over 6 foot in height, just under 300lbs and it felt like I was balancing on one buttcheek the entire night. Next, I saw the menu and it quickly appealed to me with some the dishes that were offered. I am a huge fan of spice and I saw they had a chipotle chicken sandwich. I decided to give it a try and upon receiving the meal, they gave it to me on a wrap. Not a big deal but not what I ordered, I politely asked them to take it back and bring back the sandwich version. Upon receiving my correct order I smelled something that really didn't jive with my nose. The buns were drowned in butter and the "chipotle sauce" tasted funky. I even had my brother in law try the sandwich and he was taken back said agreed something was wrong. The waitress came back and I had asked her to switch my sandwich because it was just unbearable to smell or eat. I opted for a simple burger, no butter on the bun with my selected toppings. I will say it had a nice charred flavor but that is all, everything else was just super bland and I left aggravated and with a stomach ache. Safe to say I will not be returning here to eat or have a drink. I recommend the George Street Ale House or Harvest Moon, never have had any issues with those...
Read moreVisited on a Saturday at 8:15pm for the live music seating. We reserved a table and they keep track which is nice. Service was kind and attentive. Food will take about a half hour to come out but it was reallllly good. We got the wings, chicken and waffles, and home cut fries with a pale ale and a Margherita flight. We had zero complaints.
The live music was great with Lisa and Ernie. Lisa was has great vocals and Ernie just brings a great vibe. Together they’re really great. We loved them!
Table was clean. Overall a clean place. We were seated in the live music area and when we left we were shocked to see how packed the bar had gotten, only because we couldn’t tell from the live music seating area. The live music area is not cramped at all so it really makes you feel like you can sit and enjoy your food and music without being annoyed by the large amount of people at the bar. Reminds me of noise cancelling headphones, you don’t hear the noise until you take the headphones off, or in this case, until you’re ready to leave the live music area. Thank you...
