Sad service at a usually good chain. We are fans of La Pain and usually have a good experience. This branch is decent during the week, but avoid the weekend staff. Rude, dismissive and no regard for our Covid concerns. Mixing our soups around when we asked for them to be served warm not cold. And lowering her mask to eat with her hands while wrapping up cutlery, no regard for our safety. We returned the cold soups after they said they just microwaved them. And didn’t reserve from a warm pot. They Avo toast had the saddest portion of Avo we have ever seen from the chain restaurant. Image attached. Weekend staff just proved that the B- team doesn’t get the win. So sad. Please avoid here on the weekend.

Le Pain Quotidien is a Belgian bakery and cafe chain known for its simple, wholesome, and seasonal food. The cafes feature handmade, organic bread and a menu that includes pastries, eggs, tartines, soups, salads, and desserts. They cater to various dietary preferences with numerous vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Generally praise the quality of the food and the cozy, rustic ambiance. The communal dining experience and use of organic, locally-sourced ingredients are highlights. 🥯 Le Pain Quotidien is a popular choice for a casual, healthy meal, ideal for breakfast, lunch, or brunch.

I just wanted to send a quick note thanking you guys! Lately, I’ve been ordering from LPQ a lot, almost everyday actually lol and today I ordered an iced mocha and a few pastries (which are always delicious!). But todays order came with quite a few extra pastries and muffins and cookies! I’ll attach a picture with my review, but it was such a nice surprise and things like this that show customer appreciation are so seldom done nowadays that I just had to write a review thanking them in return. Thank you guys so much! You made my day 💜

Apparently you can't change the seats even for a few minutes at this branch - otherwise you will be given harsh instructions to go back to your seat NOW -

This is what i experienced when i moved from one seat to another. I was sitting next to a couple - They were talking - I had to attend online meeting - so for a few minutes i changed my seat - so that i can take my meeting peacefully - however, as soon as i changed it - server came to me interrupted me in the middle of the meeting and said to go back to the seat - i told him repeatedly that i am in the meeting - give me five minutes - but he didn't listen to it - even though he can clearly see that i was in the meeting - he again said go back to your seat now - Second time - like what? somehow i completed my meeting with rage and totally divided attention - Never have i ever seen this kind of behavior at any restaurant - let alone int'l chain restaurant - Never going back to this location again - beware - read other reviews as well - mostly related to staff inadequate knowledge about the food or rude behavior or worst service.

However, at the end their manager came in and apologized and said can i get you anything or what? He was trying to say take the food for free - its on us - however, i wasn't there for free food - People don't go there for free food - people need respect when they do business with you - they don't need free food - Give respect and you will never have to...

I am very familiar with Le Pain from the days that I used to go to NYC for work. My expectations were shattered at the New Canaan location. I sat myself. The waitress finally came over and had to struggle to ask me if I'd like some coffee. She took my simple coffee order which took about 15 mins to get it. Meanwhile I could see her at the coffee bar making her own already-made coffee better and in no rush to bring me mine (after I said how much I needed coffee!). Then finally after taking a few sips of her own coffee, she brought mine over. The other waitresses looked miserable as I wanted to get their attention but I said, why bother. I then ordered. I got my food (which was very good) in a timely manner. I did notice my waitress sitting at a table and eating a hardboiled egg. I thought that was a bit strange as she clearly was not on break. I saw one table get up and leave as not a single staff person came over with a menu or to greet them. Anyway, this location has a lot of obvious issues - mostly starting with the staff. They all seemed to be walking around with grudges and hating to be there. Hopefully the issues will be corrected as I do love the vibe of Le Pain restaurants and I'm happy there's one nearby without having...

Looks like a great places to go at first. Got there ordered 2 bacon egg and cheese croissant. Also ordered a chocolate bread and asked for it to be warmed up. Wanted that right away. We took a seat to wait for our order. 20mins after waiting for our food which should not take that long. I went up and asked for a refund. They said "oh we have it ready if you want it". Not sure why we would still want it if it took us to say that we want a refund for them to want to have it ready for us. Customer service is not a thing for this place. I get it you're in New Canaan and you Taylor to the "high class", but it doesn't matter who walks through those doors. Not a way to treat any customer who is paying. Especially on a Saturday morning. Would not recommend going there. Also for the 3 small items we ordered the check came out to be $27..... Not sure why even the high class would pay so much for a breakfast sandwich that take so long to get. We did not even get an apology for what happened. Call me crazy, but I would never want to go to place like this if this is how the service is. Don't care how great the food is. Service is key. Rather have a locally owned business rather than a...
