Archie Moores NH — Restaurant in New Haven

I have been a customer of the New Haven and Archie Moore’s, geez since right out of high school! And that was 1984! I’ve always always loved their wings; they were the best and that blue cheese dressing is the absolute best! However, recently (and I’ve been reading other reviews seeing the same), I have been very disappointed! Whether it be the wings or other type of!food I have been unhappy and unsatisfied. I ordered wings to go about a week ago and they were dried out and unappetizing. Then last night I ordered pickup: a lobster roll and an order of clam strips- both platters. I specifically asked if the hot lobster roll came on a buttered hot toasted roll and was told yes. Well, I think out of the whole order of clam strips, which was not very large to begin with, I found one legitimate clam strip in the whole bunch. That one tasted good, the rest was batter and pieces of offal or I don’t know what! The lobster roll was just pieces of lobster thrown on a plain roll! And when I took it out of the package it was completely soggy and soaked on one side making it inedible completely. I added my own butter to it but it didn’t help because there had been no butter on the roll or the lobster. I’m very unhappy and I paid a lot of money for a very unsatisfying disgusting dinner that I had to throw away most of it. Came in after a long day at work with 2 other co workers sat at a table all the way in the front because the restaurant was packed and there was only 1 other open table with practically not much space between the other tables , which would have been very uncomfortable . We then were denied service because they wanted to hold the 2 front tables for a party of 4 & since it was just 3 of us we couldn't sit there & eat comfortable, pretty upsetting we then left. As a restaurant customers should be able to sit where ever they please to , the same way other restaurants give the best customer satisfaction no matter what . I was a repeated customer but after today will no longer return back to Archie M. Also big Thanks to the bartender on tonight (male) who told me to have fun when I said I would like to contact the boss/owner JIM about the situation !...

4.5. Great neighbourhood pub with good vibes and good food. The wings were the highlight- definitely order them. They were crispy and saucy and cooked well. Also ordered some burgers- you can get any burger with Beyond Meat (great for vegetarians) and also as a “skinny” in lettuce and with a side of vegetables. Next time I’ll ask for no A-1 sauce - personal preference but read about the sauces they add because they will be all over the burger so make sure you like them. The Cajun fries are also great! Server was friendly and checked-in. Lots of other food options on the menu - very accessible for vegetarians. There is patio seating and a big back room as well. Three different sports were playing on the television screens- so definitely something for everyone. Good...
