If you want "THE BEST" sushi experience of a lifetime, East Rock Market is the place to be. East Rock Sushi Bar has the freshest, extremely great quality seafood I've ever experienced. The chefs are fun, engaging, and very real. Each dish presented to you is explained and they advise you when it is best to use soy sauce. The fish is so fresh, soy sauce is really not needed. There is a bar situated across from the sushi bar and there are several other businesses within the upscale market. You'll keep coming back as I have already scheduled to return 4 more times within the next 2 months. You won't be disappointed, just be patient as they only have 2 chefs and they have great precision to make you the perfect meal.

We need more local gems like this place! It's a spacious eatery; high-quality foods. Go to the taqueria or get an artisan pasta dish a few steps away. Good pizza, too, Neapolitan style. Want something lighter? Get gourmet sandwiches, smoothies, etc. across the way. Definitely sit down at Rockfish for epic sushi. Again, high-quality! There's a wine/wisky bar, too, if you want a relaxing beverage. There is plenty of seating.

Giving a four because I like the idea of the venue and think it has potential but it was very empty. Two of the vendors listed on the website have closed so there are only 2 options for food and while the sandwich place was good it was very expensive. Sushi was also good and Rick’s bar was great but on a Thursday night I don’t think there were even a dozen people inside. Will definitely return when a few mor vendors open.

The food was great, the atmosphere is clean and vibrant, (it does get a bit noisy as the place fills up) all employees at each station seemed friendly and very willing to help out each of us as first timers. I did find prices a bit high, in my opinion, for what we received. We arrived at 4 to hang before eating and had our choice of any place to sit but by 6 the place was 90% full. I didn't see anyone not have a place to sit at the tables or each each station where there is bar type seating. Gelato was exquisite and the young woman Gracey who served us is a complete sweetheart. We had sushi, a delicious charcuterie board (Jessica the manager is beyond enthusiastic, helpful and freindly and serves the best meats, cheeses and breads that I've experienced in a long while. Ecellent) There's a full bar and a great Italian restaurant all on site as well as a juice and salad bar. All were excellent. We will be regularly visiting...

Panicale Pasta: we got the pizza with sausage, butternut squash, and sage. It was decent, very heavy on the sage (ie Christmas tree flavor). If you want pizza in East Rock, one 6 three is very close and substantially better.

Rockfish sushi: we got the omakase. $30+ for 5 pieces of nigiri, 5 pieces of sashimi, four small maki, and some edamame. Fancy presentation, overall average taste. The fish was low fat content (always more fat please!). I don't feel it was worth the price for the amount and quality. I've heard this sentiment from at least three others who have recently tried Rockfish.

Also wish the "takeout" options - ie eating at a table 10 feet from the kiosk where "eat in" diners are eating with real plates and silverware - didn't generate takeout waste (plastic containers, cardboard that can't be recycled) when it's not truly takeout.

Gelato: I'm not a gelato connoisseur but I thought it was...
