The Marketa — Restaurant in New Haven

So, this morning my boyfriend and I went to this place with the thoughts of it being a decent place considering someone we encountered told us it was cheap and reaaaally good... not the case at all apparently ?. We went in waited for a good minute or two as the man who took orders just finished wrapping a sandwich. We ask for a steak and cheese and I asked the man if they put jalapeños on it if so none,, as well as onions or anything but tomato and lettuce, little mayo ya kno ? cause that's how i like my sandwich and if i'm paying for it ......... what's the issue?. WHATEVER so he brushes my boyfriend off when he said it a second time because he was rude and brushed me off just like him. We get the sandwich, pay HOT FOOD with ebt card because the woman at the register told us if we wanted to pay for it like that we could, and leave. I sat down near by and took a bite and my boyfriend noticed immediately that what i was allergic to was on the sandwich, mushrooms. THANK GOD I noticed it and didn't eat enough to harm me and I had my epipen on me. I hesitated and then said f* that we're going back and he's making this again. My boyfriend POLITELY ASKED HIM and he told the man in the kitchen about it and they refused to make it. The man in the kitchen was laughing in my face telling me I just didn't want to pay for a 10$ sub......

Ok so I had an amazing steak n cheese sub from here about 2 months ago. So I decided to return and try some other sandwiches. So a friend and I called and ordered ahead. Grilled chicken wrap, steak n cheese and sausage n peppers subs. I was very disappointed! The size of the sub decreased, the quality of the meat appears and tastes different. My onions were overcooked almost charred. Grilled chicken was dry and overcooked as well. The sauce on sausage and peppers was very salty. Sausages were burnt on ends and dry as well. I was surprised and very disappointed. I called to complain and the owner/mgr did attempt to rectify the situation. I returned the following week to try the steak n cheese again. It was flavorful, cooked correctly yet I still say the meat has changed! I give up on...

The new owner is TRASH! He's rude, stingy and over priced for what he offers. I ordered a BLT sub. Most places offer 6 slices of bacon, 3 per side of the sandwich. He gave me 4 shriveled up peices and yelled at me for questioning why I was paying $10.50 for 4 slices of crumbled bacon and a pound of lettce. I patronized this establishment for years prior to the new owner taking over, approximately 2 years ago. I will NEVER spend money in that place again. You...
