Ripple Float is a beautiful relaxing spa haven located next to the Omni Hotel in downtown New Haven. My mother and I went there during the weekend of my sister's graduation from Yale's School of Management(Go Bulldogs!). We booked while we were in Philly for our layover and had trouble scheduling online so we called the office. Olivia immediately scheduled us for a full spa day on Sunday and then we decided to do a separate float on Friday before dinner. Olivia was so kind and happy to help us.
When we arrived on Friday we were greeted by Jade to prepare for our float session to sign our waivers. We were taken to a beautiful room with cozy blankets, salt lamps and calming lighting to begin our journey. After watching the informational video for our float session, Jade walked us back to the our separate rooms. The space was so clean and welcoming. We each had our own individuals rooms with a shower, float bath, robe, slippers and toiletries. It was an expectational experience.
When we came back on Sunday for our full spa day which included a 3 min cryotherapy session, 1 hour float, 1 hour massage with Jalisa and Stephen followed by an hour sauna session. The deep tissue massages by Stephen and Jalisa were otherworldly. I usually ask for a deep tissue massage but never felt that folks were able to get deep enough, this was not the case. Both my mother and myself felt that every knot we had in our bodies was released and cared for during our session. There were multiple times I felt that multiple hands were on me though it was Stephen and my mom felt the same way with Jalisa. All staff at Ripple Float ensured we were comfortable, hydrated with their many free selections of tea, water and kombucha (available for purchase). We are both looking forward to returning for another full spa day when we are back...
Read moreRipple Float and Wellness Center is the perfect one stop shop for all my favorite ways to relax and treat myself. More recently, I started doing regular cryotherapy sessions after I had hip impingement surgery. I would recommend this service for anyone recovering from a surgery or injury of any kind. The cryotherapy sessions 1) accelerated the healing of my surgerical wounds. I started off with stitches and by week 3, not only were my stitches out but my wounds were completely closed.. I am now in week 6 with minimal scarring that is getting less and less noticeable each day. 2) aided in scar tissue prevention and improved mobility. I had some scar tissue in one area of my leg near the surgical site that was causing an uncomfortable pop/crack sensation. But I was able to get that resolved through cryotherapy. I actually had physical therapy with the popping issue one day, then went to cryotherapy the next, and the popping issue was completely eliminated afterwards and did not return. And lastly, cryotherapy really increased my mobility and range of motion. Any joint pain I was experiencing before I came in was 100% gone after my session. My mobility at week 3 was equivalent to what my PT normally sees at week 6 (she told me this herself). Overall, an amazing service for injury and surgery recovery....
Read moreThis place is amazing! I was visiting for the weekend and was able to do cryotherapy one day and floated the next. Both services were great, but what really stuck out to me was the kindness and positive, fun attitudes of the staff. They were genuinely happy that I walked through the door and I could feel that. A place can have top of the line services and equipment but if the staff isn't welcoming and happy to help, it can be a real turn off. The whole place had great vibes, that made me real happy.
This was my first time doing cryo with nitrogen and Stephen explained everything step by step and talked me through the whole thing. The floating was absolutely amazing, so relaxing. Super clean in there, the shampoo/conditioner/soap smelt AMAZING, it was a great experience from start to finish. The blow dry area was also very convenient. They seem to have thought of everything, so really you just need to show up and relax :) Oh yah! And the Wise Ape tea...
