Wingstop — Restaurant in New Haven

I ordered boneless BBQ wings with blue cheese. First off this place is literally a 3 min walk from my house and when the food got here it wasn’t even a little warm and the driver got here in minutes, it was under 20 min from ordering on my phone to getting to my house NO reason it shouldn’t of been steaming hot. It was in an aluminum container so if it was hot it would have still been hot when it got here but it was cold to the touch after maybe 2 minutes of taking the top off. The chicken is so tender and amazing it deserves an amazing signature sauce but instead it gets a thin layer of tasteless sauce all I taste is a vinegar taste I feel like it’s going to cause heart burn, I ate 2 and stopped eating them I couldn’t even force myself to eat it. And who can mess up blue cheese?!?!? Obviously this place, the blue cheese tasted like it came from one of those huge $2 containers of blue cheese that cheap stuff, I always go to Buffalo Wild Wings because the sauce is signature it’s the same every time and the blue cheese gives the wings that sweet creamy signature taste that is the same every single bite, it’s literally making my mouth water just thinking of Buffalo Wild Wings, and I have 28 garbage wings sitting here on the table lol this place should change their name and not have wing in their name because wings are not your strong suit. This place really needs to collab with real wing places and get their sauce right because sauce is everything for a wing place. So if I was you I would stick with a place you like, don’t just order here out of impulse give it a little while and order from here once and a while to see if they got their signature taste ready because I don’t think any wing place should open their doors until they know their sauce is slamming I hate when places try to do wings but they just arnt good at making them, making wings is an art you gotta perfect it and take it seriously. I might see if they get it right down the line but as for now this was a huge disappointment even the one at the casino wasn’t that great, it was a lot better then this but even the sauce at the casino wasn’t on point. I think opening in the middle of the ghetto didn’t help them either it looks like a crack spot at night not a wing joint. I guess time will tell. I actually decided to do a taste test on this visit and compare you directly with a KFC across the street and order a spicy sandwich at the KFC and a spicy mango habanero at the Wingstop. Here is what I found. The KFC just had a better sandwich. The bread at the KFC was softer. The breaded Wingstop was actually kind of hard and not enjoyable. The chicken at Wingstop was far bigger but it was rather tough and thin. The chicken at KFC was much more moist. I’ve also gone to Popeyes and Chick-fil-A and I’ve found that their chicken tends to be similar to what I would get at the KFC. Flavor wise I found them both to be nice and spicy. Wingstop also had a delicious sauce on the side. I got the blue cheese. Wingstop was a dollar cheaper for the sandwich but because overall it just wasn’t as good the amount of calories, I would rather spend the extra dollar on KFC. Especially considering the very long wait that you have to have for Wingstop. Parking at Wingstop was also a bit difficult although cars seemed to come in and out frequently enough. KFC would have the better parking option.

The best place to get food for the next 3 towns. The food & service was so good. This is what I heard crack is like although I recommend the chicken store. Please don't do crack. The chicken was so delicious & saucy which made it entertaining while watching some Halloween shows & there's like this come down that you feel the next morning & for a couple days where I felt like I got so full & I wanted to go back like I was getting agitated & wanted more but was busy & still processing what I had. I was having these flashbacks of the employees saucing my food & greeting me when I came in the store & I was like those trappers!! 🛑😭😅. Then I was recycling cans for the chicken money I mean I recycle cans but I felt like there was an ulterior motive wanting chicken money like it was something feisty or 😡 grr give it. I had cheese fries & Hawaiian flavor chicken strips & it was fresh, perfectly sauced & warm. I had a brownie too & some tea. Win. It was next level.
