We have now been twice and the best I can say is meh. Our first visit was a couple of weeks ago on a random weekday afternoon. We sat inside at the bar and split the. Lobster Mac and cheese and fish and chips with a couple of cocktails. The bartender was our waitress and was very nice and attentive and the food was good. This visit is the only reason for the 3rd star. The second time we went was 9pm on a Saturday. We figured the the outdoor patio/bar area would be a good time. We asked the hostess when we got there if the bar area outside was open and had space available. She told us to go look and did not go with us to seat us. We found a table right by the bar. We waited at least 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us and even then had to flag the waiter down who was about to walk right by us to the table behind us who has just been seated. He promptly told us this was his second day on the job. We order tatorachos (tater tot nachos) with the sour cream on the side because my husband doesn't eat sour cream but the waiter said he already hit enter on the iPad so he'd have to go tell them. We also split the lobster roll. Guess what??? Yup.. tater tots had sour cream all over them. The lobster roll had so much lemon juice on it that's really all you could taste and the bread of the sandwich was too soggy to eat and the fries were cold. Finally my husband had a simple Tito's with Sprite (Sierra Mist) but it tasted like vodka and tonic water and he didn't finish it. We didn't bother to say anything to the waiter because he was so frantic and he seemed to be the only waiter for the whole patio and was not around very much and we didn't have time available to wait for things to be corrected. I think this place is probably hit or miss but we won't be going back. It's too pricey for another experience like we had on Saturday. It's a shame because that location is awesome but for whatever reason every restaurant that's been in that space has similar service and food...
Read moreWhile the atmosphere of the bar seems nice, the service is questionable and they are unwilling to accommodate for their guests. I drove here to have a burger. I have a pork allergy so I explained this to my waiter, since many of the burgers have bacon on them. The manager comes back and informs me that they are unwilling to sanitize part of the grill to avoid cross-contamination, and says I should order the mac and cheese or the salmon instead due to the fact that they are cooked in separate pans. Oddly enough, she also recommended the fried chicken, despite promptly explaining that they fry their bacon in the same oil they use for the fried chicken. I have never had a problem making sure my food was safe at any other place, as most, if not all restaurants/bars I’ve visited in the area have been gladly willing to accommodate.
Despite selling $15 burgers, they don’t want to deal with the inconvenience of cleaning the grill to ensure guests’ safety. I definitely recommend going somewhere that takes food safety more seriously and offers better hospitality to paying...
Read moreHorrible experience! Went on a Friday night, and it was not that busy. First tried to sit outside, after 15mins when no one came over we headed to the bar… from there it took another 10mins to get a drink. We got the pretzel sticks to start, after 20mins when they didn’t arrive I had to asked about them. When they finally arrived they had no flavor, where wet on the bottom and where a bit burned. You could tell they sat under a heat lamp. Split the Cesar wrap, it was ok. Not enough dressing or chicken and was very dry. The staff: the bartenders where so rude, I asked for a water when my food arrived and when I didn’t get it after 10mins I asked again. The bartender acted super annoyed with me and I could see her complaining to her coworker about it. I completely understand if they are understaffed and busy but this was not the case. I will never go back, which is a shame because it’s so close to home. New Lenox needs better...
