I left after seeing how the sandwiches are prepared. It was busy and it seemed the workers were new, but I waited on line a while before leaving and saw a pattern. The bread is sliced for your sandwich and just left on the stainless steel counter top. It is not placed on a paper wrapper. It is only wrapped in paper after the sandwich has been completely made. The bread for your sandwich sits on the stainless steel counter top which is loaded with meat and veggie debris from other sandwiches that were previously made. Then the meat and cheese, or just cheese, are sliced directly onto the bread (same slicer used for meat and cheese so vegetarians be aware). What is really strange is that the receipt for the order is placed directly on the two halves of the open sandwich. I saw this several times where the receipt is laying on top of the sliced meat prior to the veggies being put on the sandwich. Then another worker removes the receipt and puts the sandwich on a cutting board and puts the fixings and oil/vinegar on the sandwich. It is then finally wrapped for you to check out. I didn’t see anyone change their gloves...
Read moreFirst of all, 4 workers were sitting around doing nothing when I entered. I looked at the meat slicer, which was disgusting with old meat and cheese hanging on it and said that I didn’t want my sandwich from that dirty slicer. The manager asked me ‘why not?’ - at which point they all started laughing. I said that the slicer had not been cleaned, to which he replied that they ‘ had been busy at lunch time.’ According to my receipt, it was then almost 7 pm - way past lunch! He went to make my order on that slicer despite my protest and I stopped him. I said that there was a perfectly clean slicer there that I pointed out to him and that he finally used. He never put on gloves while slicing and handling my food. After being a loyal Jersey Mike’s customer for many years, and being excited that one opened nearby, I really am rethinking my loyalty - particularly after being laughed at by the employees for wanting...

Ordered what I was expecting to be a foot long sandwich but it was more like 8 inches. The bread was dry, flaky and almost stale. I only wanted ketchup on my roast beef. No other toppings. The amount of ketchup the girl put on was so minimal. Like a few teardrops, which soaked into the bread so it was barely able to be tasted. Also, the portion of roast beef was small. You would think that if you're not filling up the sandwich with lettuce, tomato etc., etc., that they'd at least give you a little more of the main ingredient. Even though they do the same thing, I think I would have gotten more at Subway. As for the staff on duty.....no complaints other than that the radio could have been turned down some. Hard to hear when a bunch of people are in there all talking at once, trying to be heard over themselves...
