I'm not sure who the management of this facility is (and maybe they're just as bad), but they need to have a look at how the bartenders are handling their behavior with guests.
Last night, a couple of my friends brought me by who had frequented the bar in the past. We stopped in to grab a quick drink together. We were immediately met with an attitude by a young gentleman at the register after waiting some time for our order to be taken. Also, note that there were maybe five patrons in the whole bar.
My friend purchased her drink before me. She made a mistake on the tip screen when paying and accidentally put in her pin, which closed out the screen to tip.
The bartender was very quick to comment that she messed up without leaving a tip. She apologized repeatedly, and he followed up with , "You just thought you weren't going to tip (while scoffing and sarcastically laughing)?!"
He refunded her the drink and recharged her card, so she was forced to leave a tip on the tip screen. (Which she was going to just give him cash, but clearly, he was making the decisions).
So I go to order next. I ordered two mojitos, and the menu options were "pineapple" or "coconut" - simple. I asked for one of each. The gentleman bolted from the register to the kitchen, came back up and said "we don't have pineapple (again with an attitude) and I said, "that's fine I'll take coconut". His response is "well, you'll have to" (while again scoffing).
I don't know about others, but I can say that we felt extremely disrespected from the moment we entered the establishment.
Opinions were already made about who we were from this individual. He got his tips, though with how much you could tell he disliked us, I wish I hadn't given anything. We tip well, we are respectful, and we were quiet when we entered.
Anyways, this place is permanently written off for all three of us. Get...
Read moreAnother Bar I have lived in New Orleans for 2 years now. I’m about to move to Houston. I came to New Orleans to start my life over and I had only a handful of people I knew in the city. When I came to karaoke with Blazen on Sunday Nights it truly saved my life. I was really struggling with feeling lonely in a new city. When I came to karaoke at Another Bar in Jan 2024 I truly found a home. I have always felt so welcome and Towner/ Blazen has put together a one of a kind experience in New Orleans on a Sunday Night. The talent that shows up on a Sunday night always blows me away. It’s really something special. Over the past 2 years I have only seen an increase in the number of people who come out ON A SUNDAY NIGHT- many who have work early the next morning, myself included.
One of the first nights I came to Sunday karaoke, a drunk college student as a joke took my phone and keys. Blazen turned the lights up in the bar and everyone searched. Blazen made sure that I got my phone and my keys back. I felt like I was family.
If anyone has anything negative to say about the staff at Another Bar I challenge them to show me the proof, because I have experienced nothing but love specifically because of Towner Hagen/Blazen Haven.
I have told so many people to come to Another Bar because of Towner/Blazen Haven. If she went somewhere else, so would I. And I would tell everyone I knew to...
Read moreWhere do I even start. I used to live upstairs while.i worked there for one. Absolutely love this bar more than anything and any place Ive er ever been. This is one of those gems of a neighborhood spot that you only see in movies. Yet, there you are living your main character lifestyle in the coolest place with the coolest people. From rags to riches their is something for everyone. But the best part is that on any day any time you can show up(during hours obviously) and you are going to run into one of the multitude of local regulars that give that place its character. Sure it's got board games, ring on a hook, arcade game, skee ball, hosts painting nights, drag karaoke with Blazen Haven, and great drinks, but NOTHING and I truly mean NOTHING beats the community this place has created over the years. As long as it stands, it will always be my first stop in...
