As you can see, I've only given it a 3 star. Typically I would not. I typically would've giving a 5 or a 4 at the least. I love this place. Been there on numerous occasions with friends and family. But yesterday a friend and I was there sitting outside It was nice, warm with a light breeze. We ordered some ice coffee, mine was something new called butter pecan. I am not sure about the one she ordered. So we looked over the menu waiting for our coffee. But we pretty much new. What we were getting from past visits. I had the smoke salmon, egg Benedic with city grits. And she had the bourbon street pancakes. The food was amazing as usual, but here lies the problem. The waiter brought out the coffees while we were waiting for the food. I took a sip of mine and thought it tasted strange. My friend seemed a little Displease when she tasted hers. I told her that I thought mine Tasted like it had Rum in it. I took another sip because I just wasn't sure. And then I let her taste it and she thought that something wasn't right. So I went inside and explained this to the bartender. And he looked puzzled and went over to the register. To see what was put in from the waiter. But before he left. I explained to him that this June on Father's Day would have made my 14th year of sobriety. I am a recovering alcoholic. So while he was checking, a young lady walked by asked if I need any help. Told her the situation and she said, pretty bluntly. We don't serve rum. I think she may have been in management I'm not sure she had on a different colored shirt. So the waiter came back was very apologetic. And said yes, Members Mark in mine. And Tito's in my friends, she doesn't drink. So they fix them the way they should have been to start with. The waiter brought them to us and apologized. Now, this is what left a bad TASTE in my mouth. Not once did someone from management. Come out and offer an apology or some kind of adjustment to the bill. Yes, they did remove the ALCOHOLIC. Beverages, Not handled the right way by management...
Read moreToday I had one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time at Another Broken Egg. As soon as we walked in, we were not greeted properly by Ms. Elizabeth. Her attitude was cold and dismissive, like she didn’t want to talk to us at all. What really bothered me was watching her warmly greet another couple who came in after us. I’m not quick to assume anything, but it definitely felt like we were being treated differently—and something about it didn’t sit right.
Thankfully, our server Katherine was amazing. She was the only bright spot of the visit. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and even apologized for the poor treatment we received from the host. That’s not her job, but she took it on anyway with grace.
When our food finally came out, it was cold—eggs and bacon. To make matters worse, the utensils we were given were dirty. I immediately asked for the manager, Michelle, to come to the front so I could show her the issue in person. She never came. No explanation, no apology. That’s unacceptable, especially when the restaurant wasn’t even busy. Whether she thought I was asking for a discount or wanted the food remade—I wasn’t. I just wanted her to acknowledge what happened and take accountability.
We spent $45 on that meal—and despite all the issues, I still gave Katherine a $25 tip because she had to apologize and take the weight for something that wasn’t her fault. That should speak volumes about the type of customer I am and how disappointed I was with the rest of the experience.
Michelle, as the manager, the energy starts with you. If you don’t want to face customers and lead by example, then maybe that role isn’t for you. We must do better, especially in...

First off, the house this restaurant is in is so charming with a great patio. We signed up on the wait list powered by Yelp on their website, we came in a little after 1 and they close at 2, and we had to wait for 20 or more minutes while people who arrived after us got seated before us, so that system seems like it could use some attention. This in turn resulted in us being a little rush, but as a restaurant worker I can understand wanting to end your day and then having a late table, it just would've been nice to feel like the place wasn't totally closing around us. Once again, totally understandable though.
I unfortunately don't remember our servers name, but she was a very sweet young woman, helpful with the recommendations and very social.
As for the food, the house blend coffee was fantastic, strong but lots of flavor. And served in an adorable little mug. As someone with celiac, it can be really hard to find restaurants that cater to your needs. This is not one of those places! They have a dedicated gluten free menu with a great selection and variety. I got the lemon blueberry goat cheese pancakes. The lemon was zesty, the goat cheese tart and the blueberries sweet, what a combo! It also came with eggs and a choice of meat which was a nice touch. They don't give you real maple syrup, but delicious nonetheless. My boyfriend got the biscuits and gravy, though they were out of biscuits so he got it with an English muffin, also good. And the prices are very reasonable.
I will definitely be coming back and working my way through that...
