I hope to be able to change this review in the near future but right now I'm feeling really bummed and ripped off. As a disclaimer, yes, I've already had a frustrating day and this really was my breaking point. I ordered the Legend sandwich to-go. I called it in so I ordered off a picture of a menu that had been posted, presumably by some other google user that had recent, but older pricing. That's not on them but still a point of frustration for me. So I order this sandwich which is supposed to be pork au lait and bbq shrimp. It was $20. It's not a foot long, it has no sides, it comes with no drink. When she told me my total over the phone I was a little too stunned to say "oh never mind then." I thought maybe it'd be huge or a bag of chips or something. Nope, that's all I got. And unfortunately it was not very good at all. And that's saying something considering this was my first meal of the day and I'd been in the OR since 6am. BBQ is a loose term, sure, but in these parts I was really hoping/expecting a New Orleans style bbq sauce. What I got was unpleasant and sweet, like a sweet baby ray's or something off a school lunch tray. You win some, you lose some, sure but what really set me off was the additional toppings. This sandwich comes stuffed in part of a loaf of french bread. The additional toppings (shredded iceberg lettuce, 3 slices of pickles, and three slices of tomato) were jammed into a side container. I have no idea how I was expected to get those into the sandwich. As an incomeless full-time student doing rotations at the hospital I have to be very careful about how I spend my money and was coerced to try this place by some colleagues. I hope my experience is isolated as the staff seemed very friendly for the few short moments I was in there picking up my meal. But all told I'm really not in a great...

As two New Orleanians (one who has dined here before, and I, a first timer), BOTH were disappointed by this sandwich.
The (albeit short menu description) says “Cochon de lait and BBQ Shrimp”… (being that it’s located on the outskirts of New Orleans but very much local, not a “tourist trap”.. we expected to have hearty cochon a la Katie’s and Nola-style BBQ shrimp on top)
We left hungry and confused:. What arrived at the table.. looked what could best be described as cat food stuffed into the end of a loaf of French bread.
The pork was basically minced meat tossed in grocery store bbq sauce with a few shrimp on top.. the kicker of it all? The sandwich is already $19.. but it cost $3 extra for us to “split it” as a convenience charge..
Y’all, I’m from here, worked in service for 20+ years and I have never heard or seen anyone charge anyone to share a meal.
If Francesca chooses to keep this on the menu, I’d advise to change the description: “bbq minced pork with shrimp stuffed...

You order at the counter, seat yourself, and they bring your food to you. We ordered the shrimp and artichoke pizza and a large Caesar salad with fried oysters. They use Gulf seafood which is a huge plus. Everything tasted great and there was plenty for two people, plus enough to bring home.
Like Katie's, they also serve the Boudreax pizza, which is a favorite of mine.
I'm not sure what, if anything, they have in the way of dessert, but District Donuts is right next door and they close later so you could have dinner here and walk over for coffee...
