Okay Banh Mi Boys, let’s talk. Because my taste buds are still throwing a parade while my stomach… well, my stomach was throwing a slightly different kind of party.
First off, the spicy lemon shrimp banh mi? A moment. Flavor for days. The KFC wings? Crunchy, spicy, living their best life. And my friend’s traditional pork banh mi with pâté practically made him weep tears of joy. Hot food, great service, and the kind of flavors that make you want to write poetry about cilantro.
Now for the drama. The internet was down, which apparently caused them to close early. I get it, tech issues happen, and they had someone in there trying to fix it like it was the space shuttle. But it meant I had to come back the next day to even try the place out. Not entirely their fault, but still part of my journey here, so I’m docking a star.
Also, my stomach and I had a little disagreement after the meal, but honestly, I’d probably risk it again because that shrimp banh mi is worth a few life choices.
So four stars, because even with the hiccups, these boys know how to serve up some serious banh mi magic. I’ll be back. Possibly with antacids, but...

Banh Mi Boys is tucked into a charming, gentrified neighborhood and definitely scores points for aesthetics—it’s a cute, cool spot that draws you in with its trendy vibe. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to the setting.
Let’s start with the egg rolls. It’s hard to ignore the overwhelming taste of freezer burn, which lingered far too long after the bite. The spring rolls were fresher, but the meat inside was overly salty, which threw off the balance you’d typically expect in a roll.
The Thai tea was another letdown. It had the color and the sweetness, but almost no tea flavor—more like vaguely tea-flavored milk.
As for the grilled pork noodle salad—well, it was missing the noodles, which was a surprise (and not the good kind). The cucumber had a bitter edge, likely from the unpeeled skin, and the pork was both dry and aggressively salty, which overpowered everything else on the plate.
Overall, while the space was inviting and the concept is promising, the execution really needs work. There’s potential here, but the flavors and freshness just...

However, your front of the house service can use more training. From the time she arrived for her shift, she was on her phone. She continued to talk even as customers came in to place and pick up orders.
I am writing this as I sit here and she has her friend on speaker phone now!!
Also, she gave a customer the wrong order, the customer thought it was hers so she touched the Po’ Boy/Bahmi. When she realized it wasn’t hers, the customer told the front end cashier that she touched the Po’ Boy/Bahmi . But the cashier placed it back in the other bag that was for another customer anyway!
That is disgusting! I’m good service, you are to throw ALL food away when a customer has touched the food and has given it back.
I gave it a ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ because of your cashier! I don’t know her name, but she is working and it is 4:44 pm on 7/2/2024. If she an adult, I would take a picture of her and post it. But she’s a high school...
