We just moved here a couple of weeks ago from DC. While exploring our new neighborhood, we stumbled upon this gem set in an adorable old home with great outdoor seating. They follow COVID-19 regulations pretty strictly while not taking themselves too seriously.
But there are two main reasons I’m writing this review:
THE ICED CHAI is something out of this world. We are a nomadic family (military) and have lived in many places (Las Vegas, San Diego, San Fran, Coastal NC, Washington DC...) over the last 10 years. I’ve been a fan of chai since I was a teenager so I feel very qualified to say: CR’s chai is the best- from coast to coast. I’m not exaggerating.
There is an employee that has been working almost every time we have come in that has been an absolute a ray of sunshine. I forget his name but he’s so nice and funny. We’re lucky enough to have a ton of coffee options in New Orleans. Luckily regardless of which one you choose, you’ll likely have a solid experience. But your experience will be exceptional only when you choose CR. The coffee, particular the cold brew, strikes a rarely perfect balance between strong and tasty. It’s good for people who crave bold flavors and for those who prefer a more mild, sippable coffee. The atmosphere is wonderful, featuring a perfect private patio and a great indoor place perfect for reading , remote work and socializing. Read moreCoffee was good. The atmosphere was nice and I sat and drank my coffee as I read the news online. I found the food choices lacking and depending on the slider vender in front of the cafe. I feel like I paid more for the sliders and coffee then I would if I went to other cafes with more diverse breakfast and brunch selections. The patrons were diverse and that was a plus. The seating outside was plentiful and inside was marginal. Right now that is to be expected with the pandemic. I hope they expand and add options...
