The majority of the market is fantastic. Great art and artists, so much variety, I know I spent way too much there. However, there is a regular artist You & Eye Photography who vends there and who is taking money from customers and not giving them their product. He takes several pictures of your iris and then says he will send you a file of a combo of the photos touched up so you can print out a really cool picture of your iris as art. He tells people he will send them their in anywhere from 2-6 weeks, gives you a card with your reference number on it, and says to contact him if he doesn't reach out. There's a whole Reddit about people that he's been scamming since last fall. He does NOT send you your photo. He does NOT respond to any emails. He did respond 3 months ago to the Reddit calling him out, yet continued to make excuses for taking peoples money without giving them a product. Not only will he not respond, but there also doesn't seem to be a way to get a hold of the Frenchman Art Bazaar manager or staff to let them know this is happening. I've tried two different emails and neither work. Hence why I'm posting this review, because someone needs to make sure this guy stops scamming customers. It reflects poorly on the whole market. I'm very happy to change this review to 5 stars and delete mention of You & Eye if someone could respond and let us know that this is being taken care of? It would be one thing if this guy took our money, didn't deliver, and disappeared, but he's STILL SELLING at the market! So he's STILL taking people's money for art when he hasn't delivered art...
Read moreThe guy who takes iris eye photos is a complete scam! I went to New Orleans on vacation in January 2025 and used his service. He assured me that the photo would be ready no later than Valentine’s Day that same year. I paid almost $60 to have the printed photo delivered to my home in Kansas.
He gave me his card, which has no phone number, only an email address. He replies to emails as if it were an automated computer response. He sent me the digital image of my eye five months after I paid him! And now, after eight months in total, I am still waiting for him to send the printed photo to my house.
I did not pay $60 for a digital photo! That is not what he offered me. I have sent him many emails, and he only replies saying he is too busy and will send the photos soon.
This is a terrible experience, and I would not recommend...
Read moreThe Frenchmen Art Bazaar is a lovely little pocket of creativity tucked just off the main drag — a small but charming collection of vendor-created art, jewelry, trinkets, and handmade goods. The vibe is warm, and the selection reflects New Orleans’ eclectic spirit. You’ll find everything from quirky prints to handcrafted pieces that make great gifts or souvenirs.
I just wish there had been more to it — not a complaint, just an observation. A couple of vendors were engaging and made an effort to connect, which was appreciated. It’s definitely worth a walk-through if you’re nearby, but it’s more of a quick stop than a...
